Democrat prosecutors are lining up to take their shot in court at Donald Trump.

Some Republicans are secretly cheering them on.

And Ron DeSantis is counting on Alvin Bragg to open one door in 2024.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis dropped out of the Presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump.

But it doesn’t sound like DeSantis is fully on board the Trump train.

In a conference call with supporters of his Presidential campaign, DeSantis attacked Donald Trump’s potential VP pick claiming all Trump cared about was identity politics.

DeSantis also attacked conservative media for not being sufficiently critical of Trump.

The timing of the call struck supporters as suspicious as the attendees walked away from the episode thinking this was DeSantis’ way of keeping his name fresh in the minds of conservative activists in case Democrat prosecutors convict Donlad Trump in one of their show trials and force him to drop out of the 2024 race.

“The timing of this ostensibly thank you call to influential state-level Republicans the DeSantis campaign recruited to be delegates to the 2024 convention is odd,” one Republican on the call told NBC News. “A month ago, sure, but now? It really seems like the governor is trying to keep the door open in the event something happens between now and Milwaukee that creates an opportunity for him to have his name put into nomination from the floor.”

DeSantis even hinted he was keeping the door open to putting his name in nomination at the convention if something happens to Trump in an oddly worded comment rejecting the idea of being Trump’s Vice President in 2024 and running for President again in 2028.

DeSantis put off the 2028 talk by pointing out the current election cycle was still going on and that anything could happen.

“Oh, I haven’t ruled anything out,” DeSantis told his supporters. “I mean . . . we’re still in this election cycle. So it’s presumptuous to say, you know, this or that. I think a lot happens in politics.”

Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg is set to take his politically-motivated persecution of Donald Trump to trial on March 25.

That trial is expected to run for three weeks and the Democrat Judge and likely all-Democrat jury will rig the proceeding to guarantee a conviction against Trump.

The Democrat Judge in the case could then sentence Trump to 136 years in prison.

In that event, DeSantis and other ambitious Republicans could push to open the convention and seize the GOP nomination for themselves.
