Ozzy Osbourne is one of the icons of heavy metal beginning with his days with Black Sabbath.

Now he’s going to receive one of the biggest honors of his decorated career.

And Ozzy Osbourne dropped one hint about performing again that caught everyone off guard.

Ozzy Osbourne headed to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Ozzy Osbourne is set to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October as a performer with Mary J. Blige, Cher, Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, and A Tribe Called Quest.

He first went into the Hall in 2006 when his former band Black Sabbath was inducted.

Osbourne told Billboard that going into the Hall for his work as a solo artist is different than his induction with Black Sabbath “because my solo career, it’s been a much larger part of my overall music career as a whole.”

Fans have been wondering if they would ever see him perform live again after he retired from touring in 2019 because of health problems.

Billboard asked him if he would consider a limited performance with a couple of songs during the induction festivities.

“You never know,” Osbourne said, adding that his outfit for the occasion “will most certainly be black.”

His last live performance was a few songs at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.

Ozzy hopes to play two farewell shows

Sharon Osbourne – his wife and manager – told Rolling Stone UK in January that the plan is for him to perform two farewell concerts in Birmingham, England where he grew up.

“He won’t tour again but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye as he feels like, ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly,’” Sharon Osbourne said.

Osbourne stopped touring in 2019 after he needed spinal surgeries after suffering a fall.

“His voice is still absolutely perfect,” Osbourne added.

The “Crazy Train” singer told fans that he was too weak to tour in 2023.

“My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak,” Osbourne wrote on social media. “Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way. My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.”

He’s still putting out music despite his touring days coming to an end.

Osbourne released Patient Number 9 in 2022 and plans to release another in the future.

“I’m not putting a timetable on it,” Osbourne said. “But I plan to start working on a new album sometime in the near future.”

Ozzy Osbourne will keep fans guessing as to whether he’ll be on the stage during his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.
