Liberals in the media can barely contain their joy about Donald Trump standing trial.

Democrats waited eight years for this moment.

But one of The View co-hosts revealed this is what scares her the most about Trump’s trial.

The View co-host worries Bragg won’t be able to rig the jury is his favor

It’s no surprise that The View was home to the most mindless takes about Donald Trump’s criminal trial.

Co-host Sonny Hostin never misses an opportunity to remind the audience that she’s a lawyer.

Hostin called Trump’s trial her “Super Bowl” – something every Democrat believes because they think this is their chance to see Trump behind bars wearing an orange jumpsuit.

“I’m not Trumped out at all. This is a legal nerd’s Super Bowl,” Hostin declared.

Jury selection is underway, and trying to pick 12 fair jurors in a city where 84 percent voted for Joe Biden is an impossible process.

Hostin said both the prosecution and the defense would comb through potential jurors’ social media posts to see if they are telling the truth about whether or not they could be an impartial juror.

“What I did find also interesting about my Super Bowl is that the legal teams will be checking the jurors’ social media to see if they can assess the truthfulness and intention of what they said during voir dire, which is their questioning,” Hostin continued.

This is where Hostin began to worry that a Trump supporter could find their way onto the jury and vote to acquit Trump which could result in a hung jury.

“I think that’s really really important because if you start liking Trump’s [posts] and you follow Trump’s stuff on social media, are you going to — can you be impartial?” Hostin continued. “I don’t really think so.”

Jury composition is everything

Radio host Clay Travis urged Trump supporters in New York to get on the jury and engage in jury nullification – the process by which a jury votes to acquit based on the belief the law is unjust or the charges against the defendant are unfair.

“If you’re a Trump supporter in New York City who is a part of the jury pool, do everything you can to get seated on the jury and then refuse to convict as a matter of principle, dooming the case via hung jury. It’s the most patriotic thing you could possibly do,” Travis wrote.

Travis faced an avalanche of criticism for encouraging jurors to violate their sworn oaths and even accusations of conspiring to commit jury tampering.

But this case is inherently political in nature.

Bragg only indicted Trump because he campaigned in 2021 for Manhattan District on a promise to indict Trump, and he faced tremendous pressure from the liberal base to follow through.

The jury pool in this case is overwhelmingly Democrat.

Leftists like Hostin think the prosecution should hold every advantage in this case when the founders set up an adversarial judicial system that is supposed to lean in favor of the accused by putting all the burden on the government.
