All hell broke loose on the set of MSNBC.

Viewers were stunned into silence.

And one MSNBC anchor asked a question about Trump and got an answer that no one saw coming.

Polish foreign minister says Trump is right about NATO

Polish foreign minister Radoslaw Sikorski said Donald Trump was right when asked about his comments that America wouldn’t defend NATO unless allied countries met their obligation of spending two percent of gross domestic product on national defense.

Sikorski said this in response to anchor Andrea Mitchell asking him about comments Trump reportedly made in private to a leader of a NATO ally.

“‘You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’” Trump reportedly said. “‘No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You gotta pay. You gotta pay your bills.’”

“What would you say to Donald Trump, who actually said that he would encourage Putin to go into NATO countries who don’t pay their fair share,” Mitchell wondered.

Mitchell was hoping Sikorski would launch into a spiel about how Donald Trump sides with autocrats and that Putin holds blackmail leverage over his head.

Instead, Sikorski said Trump was correct that NATO nations needed to pick up the slack and spend more on defense.

“Well, we hope that’s just flowery rhetoric. He’s right that we should be spending more in Europe. Poland is spending well over 3% of GDP [gross domestic product] on defense and we’ve placed $50 billion worth of defense, orders in the United States,” Sikorski responded.

This answer stunned Mitchell and MSNBC viewers as it’s an article of faith on the Left that all foreign leaders see Trump as a corrupt buffoon ready to sell out America’s allies to Russia because he is some kind of Putin fanboy.

Trump wants to put America First in foreign policy

The war in Ukraine is not a vital national security interest to the United States.

Ukraine is a country with a corrupt government that doesn’t hold any strategic value in American foreign policy.

Eastern European nations, like Poland, that once fell behind the Iron Curtain are worried that if Russia conquers Ukraine then Russian troops will sit on their border.

But if European countries want to protect themselves from a Soviet military presence, then they need to fund their own national defense.

For decades, European nations created lavish socialist welfare states because they could freeload off the United States paying the lion’s share of the cost to defend the continent from the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Union, however, no longer exists.

America is also $34 trillion in debt.

The southern border is in crisis thanks to Joe Biden opening it to a historic wave of illegal immigration.

Donald Trump understands that America can’t afford to serve as the world’s policeman at a time when the nation is drowning in red ink and overrun by millions of illegal aliens.

And even America’s allies in Europe understand it’s time for them to pick up the slack as they are the ones threatened by Russia.
