Nancy Pelosi is up to her ears in problems.
To make things worse, she was hit with a nasty surprise she never saw coming.
And Nancy Pelosi was taken aback after this shocking announcement by law enforcement.
The political world was turned upside down after the shocking attack on the husband of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) at their San Francisco, California home.
Paul Pelosi was attacked by an illegal alien from Canada, David DePape, with a hammer that sent him to the hospital to undergo surgery to repair a skull fracture.
The crime wave sweeping San Francisco because of leftist policies supported by Pelosi came back to bite her.
Now, it appears that another leftist policy could be keeping DePape from being deported after a potential criminal conviction.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that DePape won’t be turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for deportation after the crime because of San Francisco’s status as a sanctuary city.
DePape entered the U.S. on March 8, 2008 with a visa as a temporary visitor.
He illegally overstayed his visa pretending to be an American citizen and even illegally registered with California as a member of the far-left Green Party.
ICE filed an immigration detainer on DePape that asks San Francisco law enforcement to notify them when he’s released so they could take him into custody and potentially deport him.
Ira Mehlman, media director at the Federation for American Immigration Reform, said the detainer placed on DePape by ICE raises eyebrows.
The “mere issuance of a detainer request for DePape smacks of disparate – shall we say, inequitable – treatment because of the political connections of the victim,” Mehlman said.
“Would ICE have bothered to ask San Francisco to detain a criminal illegal alien, if the victim had been Paul Smith or Paul Jones, instead of Paul Pelosi?” asked Mehlman.
The ICE detainer ultimately won’t matter because of San Francisco’s status as a sanctuary city.
District Attorney Jenkins said, “San Francisco is a sanctuary city and our policy is sacred. […] We will not be collaborating or coordinating with ICE.”
San Francisco city law states, “City and County of San Francisco is a City and County of Refuge.”
The law says that no employee or city agency, “shall use any City funds or resources to assist in the enforcement of Federal immigration law or to gather or disseminate information regarding release status of individuals or any other such personal information.”
Nancy Pelosi is a long-time supporter of sanctuary city policies.
In 2017, she said that “sanctuary cities make us safer” during a town hall that included a mother whose son was brutally murdered by an illegal.
Now the chickens are coming home to roost for Nancy Pelosi with her support of sanctuary city laws.
