Mitch McConnell quit and what Democrats did in response said it all

RINO Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell made it official.

McConnell’s days of leading the Senate GOP are over.

That’s because Mitch McConnell quit and what Democrats did in response said it all.

Democrats praise their loyal ally on his way out the door

McConnell took to the Senate floor and announced he was stepping down as Republican Senate leader after the November election.

McConnell hinted that he realized the GOP moved away from his establishment moderation as it was fully Donald Trump’s party now.

“Believe me, I know the politics within my party at this particular time,” McConnell stated. “I have many faults. Misunderstanding politics is not one of them.”

Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer effusively praised McConnell as a loyal partner who helped them raise the debt ceiling, fund the government, and work to advance the interests of the Washington, D.C. Swamp.

“I’ve trusted him and we have a great relationship,” Biden said of McConnell. “We fight like hell. But he has never, never, never misrepresented anything.”

“During my years in the Senate, Mitch McConnell and I rarely saw eye to eye when it came to our politics or our policy preferences,” Schumer added. “But I am very proud that we both came together in the last few years to lead the Senate forward at critical moments when our country needed us.”

Schumer and Biden heaping praise on McConnell – who was ostensibly elected to fight their agenda – was an eye-opening moment for conservatives who saw once again that the people they send to office to represent their values are really just members of the same club as Democrats.

McConnell shifts focus to Ukraine

In his speech, McConnell made it clear he sees his final months in leadership as one final battle with Donald Trump over the direction of the GOP in foreign policy.

McConnell defended the Washington, D.C. warmongers who think Ukraine’s border is more important than America’s and who want to tie the United States down in more endless wars.

“I believe more strongly than ever that America’s global leadership is essential to preserving the shining city on a hill that Ronald Reagan discussed,” McConnell exclaimed.

Freed from a need to fight for maintaining his leadership position, Democrats praised the fact that McConnell can now devote all his efforts to forcing a $95 million foreign aid bill – which contains a $61 billion slush fund for Ukraine – through Congress.

“It is probably the case that on his way toward retirement, he’s going to work as hard as he can to make sure that the national security bill gets over the finish line in the House and the Senate to President Biden’s desk,” House Democrat Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries told The New York Times.

Conservatives recognized this reality too as the House Freedom Caucus mocked McConnell as the Senator from Ukraine the Democrats can always count on to put America last.
