The situation at the southern border is a nightmare.

Joe Biden is finally pretending to care about solving the illegal immigration crisis.

And Mike Lee responded to the Senate border betrayal with four words that sent Mitch McConnell into a fit of rage.

President Joe Biden’s open borders agenda has created the worst illegal immigration crisis in American history.

Record-breaking numbers of illegal aliens and dangerous drugs like fentanyl are flooding into the country on a daily basis.

In December, for the first time ever, Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 300,000 illegal aliens trying to sneak into the country in a single month.

Overall, more than six million illegal aliens have entered the country through the southern border since Biden took office.

The massive influx of illegal aliens has become a major problem across the country, particularly in Democrat-controlled “sanctuary cities,” like New York City and Chicago.

The Biden border crisis is so bad, in fact, polls now indicate that illegal immigration is one of the top issues for voters heading into the November election.

President Biden and his fellow Democrats see the poll numbers, and realize they will be in big trouble come fall if they continue to ignore the border crisis.

That’s why they’re suddenly pretending to care about fixing the illegal immigration crisis and securing the border.

Biden recently offered his full support for the Senate border betrayal, which he referred to as “the toughest and fairest set of reforms to secure the border we’ve ever had in our country.”

“If you’re serious about the border crisis, pass a bipartisan bill and I will sign it,” Biden declared.

Of course, the Senate border betrayal would actually increase the number of illegal aliens allowed to enter each day to 8,500.

As Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) pointed out in a press release, the bill “codifies catch and release,” explicitly “allows up to 1.8 million illegal aliens to enter before temporarily closing parts of the border,” and “funds sanctuary cities and NGOs sending illegals around the country.”

The Senator noted that the bill also “subsidizes free, taxpayer-funded legal counsel to illegal aliens,” and contains billions of dollars in additional taxpayer funding for Ukraine and Israel’s war efforts.

The bill does not contain any immediate funding for a border wall, and says nothing about actually deporting illegal aliens.

Dozens of Republicans in both the House and Senate have already announced their opposition to the bill.

But Senator Lee found it so disturbing that he went one step further and called for McConnell to be replaced as Senate Minority Leader.

“This feels like an elaborate practical joke,” Lee wrote. “But it’s not funny. Not one bit. I cannot understand how any Republican would think this was a good idea—or anything other than an unmitigated disaster.”
