District Attorney Alvin Bragg charged Donald Trump on 34 bogus counts of falsifying business records.
But Bragg’s witch hunt exposed a major weakness for Democrats.
And Democrats are scrambling after Jim Jordan let the cat out of the bag about Alvin Bragg’s record on crime in New York City.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is one of the Republicans leading an investigation into Alvin Bragg’s politicized witch hunt against Donald Trump.
After Jordan subpoenaed Mark Pomerantz, a former special assistant in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, Bragg filed for a temporary restraining order against the GOP Congressman.
Within hours, Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil denied Bragg’s request.
Bragg’s attempt to intimidate Jordan only emboldened his investigation.
On Monday, during a Congressional hearing at the Javits Federal Building in Lower Manhattan, Jordan exposed the overwhelming number of repeat criminal offenders wreaking havoc on New York City under Bragg.
“In this country, justice is supposed to be blind, regardless of race, religion or creed,” Jordan said at the hearing. “However, here in Manhattan the scales of justice are weighed down by politics. For the district attorney, justice isn’t blind. It’s about looking for opportunities to advance a political agenda, a radical political agenda.”
“As we’ll hear today, repeat offenders are plaguing New York City,” Jordan added.
He then brought up the warning from NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell about how “recidivism is the undertow pulling against everything we are doing to keep our city safe.”
Soros-funded District Attorneys like Alvin Bragg are implementing pro-crime policies once in office.
Jordan referenced a memo from January of 2022 where Bragg ordered his team to lower the penalties for crimes like robbery and assault.
“There are already too many people who believe that they can commit crimes, resist arrest, interfere with police officers, and face zero consequences,” Jordan said of Bragg’s policies.
Jordan pointed out the shocking fact that 327 individuals were arrested more than 6,000 times for “retail theft” last year in New York City.
“Think about that,” Jordan said. “327 individuals responsible for 6,000 retail thefts, what we used to call ‘stealing,’ taking someone else’s property, each person arrested on average 20 times.”
Crime is surging in Democrat-led cities across the country.
Jordan said the Judiciary Committee would hold future field hearings in “some of our greatest cities” to examine crime under Democrat control.
“What better place to start than New York City, where videos of violent, senseless attacks appear almost daily, and where the DA of Lower Manhattan earned a reputation for caring more about the perpetrators of crime than the victims,” Jordan said.
Skyrocketing crime is a major concern for voters in states all over the country.
And Jim Jordan is using Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt to show the American people that Democrats are responsible for the rising crime rates.
