California Congressman Adam Schiff is sweating bullets.
Schiff’s worst abuses are now out in public.
And Adam Schiff just got hit with this brutal news about a criminal accusation.
Former Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blasted Adam Schiff in an interview with Fox News for allegedly leaking classified intelligence when Schiff served as ranking member and then chairman of the House Intelligence Committee during the Russia collusion hoax.
“During my time as CIA director and Secretary of State, I know that he leaked classified information that had been provided to him,” Pompeo stated.
As evidence Pompeo cited the intelligence Pompeo – in his capacity as CIA Director – provided Schiff, only to turn around and see it show up on CNN or in some other anti-Trump fake news outlet.
“It’s a complicated process, right? It’s difficult to pin down precisely what happened,” Pompeo added. “But I could tell you that when we provided information to him and to his staff, it ended up in places it shouldn’t have been with alarming regularity. We could see it. In the end, I decided– I held back information from them as a result.”
Leaking classified intelligence is a felony and Schiff’s office responded by accusing Pompeo of defaming him.
“This is another patently false and defamatory statement from Mike Pompeo. While we understand that Adam Schiff is a favorite target for the failed lackeys of the Trump administration running for president, reputable news outlets shouldn’t repeat these falsehoods,” Schiff spokesperson Lauren French declared.
But in a letter to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Speaker Kevin McCarthy cited Schiff abusing his power – and potentially leaking classified information – as why McCarthy would not reconsider his decision to remove Schiff from the House Intelligence Committee.
“It is my assessment that the misuse of this panel during the 116th and 117th Congress severely undermined its primary national security and oversight missions ultimately leaving our nation less safe,” McCarthy wrote. “Therefore, as we enter a new Congress, I am committed to returning the Intelligence Committee to one of genuine honesty and credibility that retains the trust of the American people.”
Schiff spent years appearing on CNN and MSNBC falsely claiming to have evidence that Donald Trump colluded with Russia during the 2016 election.
Conservatives long suspected that many of the false stories planted in the media – such as the lie that Donald Trump Jr. had advanced knowledge of the WikiLeaks email dumps – originated with Schiff.
And Mike Pompeo – who would be in a position to have a well-informed opinion – also believes that to be the case.
