If you thought gas prices were bad now, just wait until Congress passes Joe Biden’s socialist spending bill . . .
Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders have made no bones about their hatred of American energy, but this is ridiculous.
And you’ll be red with rage when you see how Biden’s signature spending bill will make gas prices skyrocket.
Buried in the thousands of pages of Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” Act is a secret tax that targets American energy companies and consumers.
This “fee,” as the Democrats call it, on methane emissions will gradually increase year after year and will reach $1,500 per ton by 2025.
Even though this tax on American natural gas is estimated to raise $8 billion over a ten-year period and is supposed to help pay for the $1.9 trillion spending bill, you have to wonder if this is the right time for such a scheme.
According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “About half of the homes in the United States use natural gas for space heating and water heating.”
Couple that with the fact that energy prices have risen 33.3% since November of 2020, and the Biden administration could force a lot of Americans to have trouble heating their homes this winter if the bill is signed into law.
It is common economic knowledge that companies pass the costs of taxes and fees onto consumers like you and me.
So it stands to reason, any escalating fee, such as the one proposed in Biden’s “Build Back Better” Act, will ultimately be paid for by consumers in the form of higher energy bills.
Given that inflation continues to rise, and rose even more than expected in November, this would be the worst time to hit Americans with such a tax.
But sadly the Biden-Harris Administration doesn’t seem to care.
This “fee” is supposed to be a gesture of goodwill to the globalists in Glasgow, where Biden vowed to help reduce global methane emissions by 30% by 2030.
So even though working-class American families may have trouble heating their homes in the winter, according to Joe Biden we are to take solace in the fact that the champagne socialists of Europe may hate America less because of our suffering.
Say what you will about Marie Antoinette, but at least her infamous “Let them eat cake” is better than the Lefts’ apparently new slogan of “Let them freeze to death.”
