Democrats refuse to respect any boundaries.
They believe their righteous indignation justifies whatever they do.
Now Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser pulled one stunt that will make your blood boil.
Democrats are desperately clinging onto power in Congress.
Their legislative agenda has ground to a halt, and they sense a red wave coming in the Midterms.
As a result, Democrats have been trying to compensate for their dwindling popularity by changing the rules in their favor.
That’s why there has been so much talk of packing the Supreme Court, and Puerto Rican, and Washington, D.C. statehood.
Democrats are desperate to add two to four more Senators because they can’t get the filibuster-proof majorities necessary to cram through their radical policy goals.
And Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser recently advocated for statehood by hoisting U.S. flags with a 51st star.
Fox News reported, “Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser on Monday ordered 51-star American flags to be displayed along Pennsylvania Avenue ahead of Flag Day, June 14. The mayor said she directed her team to hang the 51-star flags as a reminder to Congress and the nation that the 700,000 tax-paying American citizens living in Washington, D.C., demand to be recognized . . . Republican lawmakers have argued that because Washington, D.C.’s establishment is based in Article 1, section 8, clause 17 of the Constitution, any change to the district must come in the form of a constitutional amendment – not legislation from Congress. They’ve also argued that the idea of D.C. statehood amounts to little more than a power grab by Democrats to expand the majority in the Senate by adding two more senators from a liberal enclave.”
Bowser pulled the stunt at a time when Democrats claimed to be the defenders of democratic norms.
If a Republican had done something similar, the Democrats would have invoked Civil War rhetoric.
Bowser said, “On Flag Day, we celebrate American ideals, American history, and American liberty. But the very foundation of those ideals, and the basis for our liberty, is representation . . . DC’s disenfranchisement is a stain on American democracy – a 220-year-old wrong that demands to be righted.”
Democrats will destroy all the country’s customs in pursuit of political power.
The Founding Fathers did not want Washington, D.C. to be part of a state and under the control of a Governor, nor did they intend Washington, D.C. to become a modern-day version of Versailles.
But as the federal government has grown out-of-control, so, too, has Washington, D.C.
The Swamp needs less power, not more.
