Democrats have been labeled socialists, Marxists, and communists by their political opponents for years.
Perhaps it’s their hatred of capitalism or maybe it’s their never-ending desire to expand the size and scope of government.
Whatever the reasoning, this prominent Senate Democrat just made it harder for his party to deny the Left’s cozy relationship with communists.
Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal recently spoke at an awards ceremony hosted by the Connecticut People’s World Committee, an affiliate of the Communist Party USA, and the People’s World news site, a Marxist propaganda publication.
At the Amistad Awards, Senator Blumenthal handed out special recognition certificates from the Senate and used this opportunity to pitch Joe Biden’s “Build Back Better” Act.
Senator Blumenthal said, “There’s a lot to be working for in economic justice, in racial equity, in establishing a $15 minimum wage and holding corporations accountable for the basic treatment of the American people. We need to look at our entire tax system, beginning with `Build Back Better.’”
But Blumenthal wasn’t finished – he also took time to disparage Republicans, promote the Democrats’ election rigging schemes, and attack the Senate’s filibuster.
The Senator was introduced by card carrying Communist Party member Lisa Bergmann who at the conclusion of Blumenthal’s speech said, “If you are not already part of the Communist Party, we invite you to participate and contribute and join.”
But what is truly ironic about Blumenthal’s appearance at a Communist Party USA event, is that he is considered one of the wealthiest Senators and estimated to be worth almost $100 million.
However, this isn’t the first time wealthy Democrats have had a cozy relationship with communists.
Barack Obama chose Van Jones, an avowed Communist, to serve as his green jobs czar in the White House.
In 2016, the national Chairman of the Communist Party USA John Bachtell told supporters that he voted for Bernie Sanders in the Democrat’s Presidential Primary and urged them to support Hillary Clinton.
And in 2020, Bob Avakian, founder and leader of the Communist Party USA, endorsed Joe Biden for President.
Despite the Democrats repeated denials of such a friendly relationship, they sure do seem to hang out a lot with Communists.
So much so that one could conclude that perhaps they doth protest too much.
