One group is sad Liz Cheney’s political career went down in flames this week

Liz Cheney’s political career is effectively over.

She lost her Wyoming primary race by a huge margin.

But one group is sad Cheney went down in flames this week.

Liz Cheney is officially a lame-duck Congresswoman after she lost the Republican primary to challenger Harriet Hageman by nearly 40 points.

Cheney felt it was more important to represent the establishment instead of her constituents by spearheading the monomaniacal witch hunt against Donald Trump.

And Washington, D.C. lobbyists will be sad to see Cheney go, as they were some of the biggest contributors to her campaign.

POLITICO reported that “Samuel Olchyk of Venable, Michael Robinson of Mehlman Castagnetti Rosen & Thomas, Khary Cauthen of Cheniere, Julius Hobson of Polsinelli and Christopher Boesen of Tiber Creek Associates of Capitol Hill, are among the registered lobbyists who wrote checks to Cheney in the final weeks of the primary, along with Joshua Dorner, the managing director of SKDK’s Washington office and Hal Quinn, the head of the National Mining Association…CVS Health’s Shannon Penberthy and ACG Advocacy’s Michael Barbera also wrote checks to Cheney this year, and throughout the campaign, she received donations of at least $2,900 — the maximum amount allowed for individuals for a primary — from Nathanson + Hauck’s Megan Hauck, the Business Roundtable’s Josh Bolten and Kristen Silverberg, Blackstone’s Wayne Berman, Coinbase’s Kara Calvert, Fierce Government Relations’ Kirk Blalock, Forbes Tate Partners’ Jeff Forbes (a Democrat), West Front Strategies’ Shimmy Stein and Airlines for America’s Nick Calio.”

Cheney had previously been accused of spending more time in Washington, D.C. than in Wyoming, and it’s easy to see why.

Also, Cheney’s husband Philip Perry is a partner at Latham & Watkins, a Democrat megafirm that’s currently representing Hunter Biden.

Cheney is very much a product of the Washington, D.C. Swamp, which is why she never liked Donald Trump in the first place.

She saw January 6 as an opportunity to take out Trump once and for all, but her gambit has not paid off.

Instead, Trump is the presumptive favorite to be the Republican nominee in 2024, and Cheney is on the way out of office.

Trump described Cheney best when he explained, “The Cheneys are diehard globalists and warmongers who have been plunging us into new conflicts for decades, spilling American blood and spending American treasure all over the world . . . the Cheneys never met a war they didn’t like.”

Cheney never cared about the people of Wyoming.

She always had bigger aspirations.
