The 2024 Presidential race is already under way.
Joe Biden’s political future is still a question mark.
And Joe Biden was floored when a leading Democrat made this decision about 2024.
Former President Donald Trump’s announcement of another Presidential bid kicked off the 2024 election cycle.
President Joe Biden claims that it’s his intention to seek a second term but questions are lingering about his political future.
The 80-year-old President’s rapidly declining mental state and disastrous start to his regime raised serious questions about another Presidential run by Democrats.
But a better than expected showing by Democrats in the Midterm elections is causing them to rally around Biden as the party’s choice for 2024.
California Governor Gavin Newsom appeared to have his eyes on the White House earlier this year.
Facing a safe re-election in deep blue California, Newsom raised eyebrows by using his campaign funds to pick a fight with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Newsom ran ads on Fox News in Florida this summer with the laughable accusation that DeSantis was taking away freedom in the state.
DeSantis is the new bogeyman for Democrats and picking a fight with the Florida Governor was a move to raise Newsom’s profile with the party’s base.
The corporate-controlled media speculated that the California governor could be a top contender for the 2024 Democrat Presidential nomination if he challenged the reeling Biden.
Newsom is now shutting down any speculation about mounting a primary challenge against President Biden after he told the White House he’s “all in” for Biden’s re-election.
“I’ve told everyone in the White House, from the Chief of Staff to the First Lady,” Newsom told Politico.
Newsom said that he personally told Joe Biden on election night that he wasn’t throwing his hat in the ring for 2024.
“I’m all in; put me in coach,” Newsom told Biden. “We have your back.”
The one-time potential primary challenger said he’s a strong supporter for a second term from the President, telling First Lady Jill Biden and White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, “I’m all in, count me in.”
Newsom’s announcement is going to cause a massive sigh of relief from Joe Biden while he considers running for a second term.
A serious primary challenge from the California Governor would have severely damaged Biden heading into the 2024 general election.
The last Democrat President this vulnerable heading into re-election, Jimmy Carter in 1980, never recovered from a strong primary challenge from the late Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA).
Newsom joins other prominent Democrats like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) who are now publicly backing Biden for a second term.
After Democrats’ surprising success in the Midterm elections, it appears that the power brokers in the Democrat Party are lining up behind Joe Biden for 2024 – for now.
