Now, Joe Biden is sweating bullets after Lauren Boebert exposed this dirty little secret about the border crisis.
Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is taking a stand against illegal immigration, which is why she irks establishment Republicans so much.
Unfettered illegal immigration into the country is favored by the establishment of both parties as well as by the hard Left that want America to be completely borderless.
One plank of the illegal immigration problem that needs to be tackled is government-funded legal aid services for illegal aliens, and Boebert is introducing legislation to combat the problem.
Boebert proposed the “No Taxpayer-Funded Lawyers for Illegal Aliens Act,” which means tax dollars wouldn’t go to legal services that undermine border security.
Boebert said that, “Democrats want to treat border detention facilities like an Oprah Winfrey show. You get free education. You get a free plane ticket. You get free medical care. You get free, free, free. It really has to stop, and my bill is the first step in this process.”
Democrats constantly whine about democracy being under assault from the Right, but illegal immigration is definitionally anti-democratic.
People who are not citizens are determining policies and asset allocation for the country, and taxpayers are being forced to fund the enterprise.
Boebert’s bill includes language that says “congress finds that United States taxpayers’ dollars should not be used to cover or subsidize the costs of legal representation for any alien who is unlawfully present in the United States.”
Boebert also wants to go after NGOs that receive taxpayer dollars, which then get used for pro bono legal services for illegal aliens.
According to the Immigration Reform Law Institute, $5.6 million in taxpayer money went to state and legal defense funds for illegal immigrants.
It’s difficult to unwind taxpayer funds to these types of organizations.
For example, Planned Parenthood is prohibited from using government funds for abortion, but money is fungible so it’s nearly impossible to determine where taxpayer money goes within an organization.
That’s why they shouldn’t be receiving public money at all.
Boebert’s bill can’t get through Nancy Pelosi’s House, but if the Republicans regain control of Congress in the midterms, that opens up the possibility for productive legislation.
