It’s a rarity for someone on the Left to admit they were wrong about a political issue.
But one famous left-wing author is breaking rank.
And author Naomi Wolf caught everyone off guard with these two jaw-dropping words she wrote to Trump supporters.
Naomi Wolf is a famous author who is considered the leading spokeswoman of what has been dubbed the third wave of the feminist movement.
In the 1990s, Wolf served as a political advisor to Bill Clinton and Al Gore’s Presidential campaigns.
Wolf, who Business Insider calls a “Democratic Party icon,” currently serves as the CEO of the site DailyClout.
Even though Wolf spent most of her years promoting far-Left feminist views, she started drifting more toward the Right during the pandemic.
As Business Insider reported, during the pandemic Wolf “railed against vaccine passports, mandatory masks, and emergency laws.”
“If I’d known Biden was open to ‘lockdowns’ as he now states, which is something historically unprecedented in any pandemic, and a terrifying practice, one that won’t ever end because elites love it, I would never have voted for him,” Wolf tweeted on November 8, 2020.
“Terrifying surveillance state you are proposing here, and that is no doubt already underway with COVID plans,” she wrote in another tweet on November 8. “Biden should have disclosed plans to hand all Americans’ COVID data to Big Tech – thus giving them control of opening and closing the economy forever — BEFORE he got my vote.”
And in 2021, Wolf posted a video of herself participating in firearms training.
In response to critics, she argued women should “master self defense via safe handling of a weapon.”
But Wolf caught everyone by surprise with her most recent public statement that counters the Left’s narrative.
Tucker Carlson set off a firestorm last week by showing unedited surveillance footage from the Capitol that blew the phony Democrat narrative around January 6 out of the water.
Democrats, RINOs, and members of the media are attacking Carlson for releasing the footage.
But Naomi Wolf penned an open letter apologizing to conservatives for believing the Democrat lies about January 6.
“There is no way to avoid this moment,” she wrote. “The formal letter of apology. From me. To Conservatives and to those who ‘put America first’ everywhere.”
Wolf went on to note that it would be easy for her to just brush this “under the rug” and “move on without ever acknowledging I was duped.”
However, she took the opposite approach and owned up to her mistakes.
“I owe you a full-throated apology,” she continued.
“I believed a farrago of lies. And, as a result of these lies, and my credulity – and the credulity of people similarly situated to me – many conservatives’ reputations are being tarnished, on false bases.”
Wolf said Carlson’s footage showed her that Pelosi and the Democrats “used millions of dollars in taxpayer money to turn that horrible day, and that tragic event, into a message point that would be used to tar a former President as a would-be terrorist, and to smear all Republicans, by association, as ‘insurrectionists,’ or as insurrectionists’ sympathizers and fellow-travelers.”
She then compared Tucker Carlson’s decision to air the footage to Daniel Ellsberg’s 1971 leak of the Pentagon Papers, which were documents pertaining to the Vietnam War.
“I do not see how Mr. Carlson’s airing of video material of national significance that the current government would prefer to keep hidden, or Fox News’s support for its disclosure to the public, is any different from that famous case of disclosure of inside information of public importance,” she wrote. “You don’t have to agree with Mr. Carlson’s interpretation of the videos to conclude that the Democrats in leadership, for their own part, have cherry-picked, hyped, spun, and in some ways appear to have lied about aspects of January 6, turning a tragedy for the nation into a politicized talking point aimed at discrediting half of our electorate.”
Wolf’s honesty is a breath of fresh air in a clouded political environment.
But it’s also a bad sign for Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, as it proves that Carlson showing the footage is destroying their phony January 6 narrative.
