The general election matchup between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is set.

And the terrain that Trump and Biden will fight the election on is now taking shape.

That’s when Sean Hannity asked one simple question that doomed Joe Biden.

Sean Hannity asks the Ronald Reagan question of Americans

In the closing moments of the one debate between Ronald Reagan and President Jimmy Carter, Reagan set the stage for his landslide win by asking the American people watching at home on TV if they were better off today than they were four years ago.

Americans who suffered through inflation and energy crises, the Iranian hostage crisis, and the Soviet Union on the march in Afghanistan, concluded the answer was, “No,” and the Reagan revolution was born.

Whenever there is an incumbent President in office, that question is now the key barometer of if the American people will keep them in the job for four more years.

During a recent broadcast, Hannity warned viewers that Democrats were about to dial up the fear mongering against Donald Trump because everyone on the Left knows Joe Biden can’t run on his record.

“They spread fear, hysteria, all things hate Trump, hate Trump 24/7,” Hannity stated. “And of course, Democrats will call Republicans racist, sexist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamophobic, transphobic that want dirty air and water. In other words, Democrats are using fear and division to mask what has been a terrible four years under Biden.”

That’s when Hannity asked the Ronald Reagan question.

“I repeat, they cannot run on, ‘Are you better off than you were four years ago?’” Hannity added. “This is all they have left.”

The numbers don’t lie.

When Donald Trump left office gas was $2.39 per gallon and inflation was under two percent, which is the Federal Reserve target.

The border was secure.

America faced no new wars.

Under Joe Biden the average cost of a gallon of gasoline nationally surged to $3.412.

Prices skyrocketed nearly 20 percent.

More than 7,000,000 illegal aliens entered America since Biden took office.

And nuclear war could break out in Ukraine at any moment.

The numbers bear this out.

A recent New York Times/Siena poll found that just 18 percent of voters reported saying that Joe Biden’s policies made their lives better.

More than twice that number – 40 percent – said Trump’s policies improved their lives.

It was no coincidence that The Times/Siena poll showed that Trump led Biden by five points.

Democrats and their media allies tried to paint Donald Trump’s four years in office as near-apocalyptic chaos.

But that’s not how the American people remember it all going down.

Rather, most Americans recall the Trump years as ones where the economy boomed, the border was secure, and no one had to worry about some rogue dictator popping off a nuclear weapon.
