Mike Tyson is a legend in the world of boxing.

The 57-year-old is coming out of retirement to fight 27-year-old social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul in July.

And Mike Tyson is hopeful that abstaining from these two pleasures will help him defeat Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson has had one of the most interesting careers of any popular professional athlete in American history.

He rose to fame at a young age when he became the Heavyweight Champion of boxing.

Nicknamed “Iron Mike” and “The Baddest Man on the Planet,” Tyson is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.

From 1987 to 1990, he reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

But the fame and money was too much for the poor kid from the streets to handle.

In 1991, he was arrested for rape and sentenced to six months in prison.

However, Tyson is a different man in his adult life thanks in large part to his use of psychedelic plant medicine.

But the 57-year-old legend will soon be back in the ring for a professionally sanctioned fight against 27-year-old Jake Paul.

“Paul is one of the most prominent social media influencers and celebrity boxers on the globe, boasting a whopping 25.7 million Instagram followers, 4.6 million followers on X, and 20.5 million YouTube subscribers,” Breitbart reported.

The fight is set to take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

And Tyson is taking his fight with the younger Paul more seriously than any fight in his career.

During a recent appearance on the Damon Elliott Show, Tyson discussed his training regimen for his upcoming fight against Jake Paul.

Tyson is an avid marijuana smoker who has his own brand of cannabis.

But he told Elliott that he hasn’t smoked marijuana in two-and-a-half weeks.

And marijuana is not the only thing Tyson is abstaining from in order to prepare for his bout with the younger Jake Paul.

He’s also giving up sex.

“And I haven’t had sex for two and a half weeks,” Tyson said.

But in an interview with Forbes, Tyson said he has abstained from two of his favorite activities for longer than two weeks.

“Probably for six weeks I haven’t gotten high or had sex,” he told Forbes on April 20. “I’m living my life disciplined now, so I’m going to have to fight disciplined now.”

Tyson said he hasn’t gone without these two pleasures since he was a little boy.

“I haven’t done that since I was a little kid,” he said.

But he admitted that he doesn’t enjoy taking a break.

“I hate not being able to smoke,” Tyson said.

“But I’m doing it like I love it,” he continued. “I hate not being able to sleep with my wife, but I’m doing it like I love it.”

Of course, Tyson has no choice but to give up marijuana, as it is on the list of banned substances by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, which is the agency overseeing the fight.

Tyson hasn’t fought since his 2020 exhibition bout with former champion Roy Jones Jr.

He is certainly putting in the work and taking his fight with Paul seriously.

But whether or not he can pull off a victory against the younger Paul will be decided on July 20.
