Mike Johnson is supposed to be the Republican Speaker of the House.
But Johnson shows his true colors to be another Swamp sell out.
And Mike Johnson cut this awful deal with Democrats to stay in power.
Marjorie Taylor Greene hints at bringing a motion to vacate against Johnson
House Democrats led by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) announced they would provide the votes to table a motion to vacate and keep Johnson in power as Speaker of the House.
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) – who introduced the motion to vacate – said Jeffries’ announcement proved her point that Johnson was really the Democrats Speaker of the House.
“Mike Johnson is officially the Democrat Speaker of the House. Here is their official endorsement of his Speakership,” Greene wrote.
Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said they wouldn’t vote to save Johnson for free.
That led Greene to wonder what corrupt bargain Johnson struck.
“What slimy backroom deal did Johnson make for the Democrats’ support?” Greene added.
Greene then detailed Johnson’s litany of sellouts to the Democrats.
Johnson supported a spending bill that funded open borders and transgender ideology.
Johnson provided the deciding vote to kill an amendment requiring Joe Biden to obtain a warrant to spy on American citizens.
Johnson then supported reauthorizing the same FISA program Democrats used to spy on Donald Trump’s campaign during the Russia collusion hoax.
And finally, Johnson rammed through another $61 billion giveaway to Ukraine to secure their border while America’s southern border remains wide open.
“He should resign, switch parties, and continue voting for Biden’s open border invasion of America, endless wars, full term abortion on demand, trans agenda on children, warrantless spying on the American people, weaponizing government against President Trump and his supporters, and every other Democrat wishlist item he’s handed over,” Greene continued.
Why bring a motion to vacate the chair?
Greene explained that even though Democrats said they will provide the votes to defeat her motion, it was an important exercise anyway.
If Mike Johnson wants to count on Democrats to keep him in power because they know he’s their puppet, then the American people should see this betrayal play out in public.
“If the Democrats want to elect him Speaker (and some Republicans want to support the Democrats’ chosen Speaker), I’ll give them the chance to do it,” Greene wrote.
“I’m a big believer in recorded votes because putting Congress on record allows every American to see the truth and provides transparency to our votes. Americans deserve to see the Uniparty on full display. I’m about to give them their coming out party!” Greene concluded.
If there is one thing the establishment hates, it’s recorded votes.
That’s because going on the record doesn’t allow you to say one thing on the campaign trail and vote another way once in Washington, D.C.
By putting Democrats on the record as saying Mike Johnson is their Speaker of the House, Greene is setting up the conditions to depose Johnson if Republicans keep the majority in the House this November as Republicans will see they need to elect a Speaker who will fight for their party’s agenda.
