Ilhan Omar finally crossed a line she likely won’t be able to come back from.
Now the floodgates are open.
And Ilhan Omar is kicking herself after this slip of the tongue put one major investigation into motion.
Congressman Ralph Norman (R-SC) told Just the News, No Noise that Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-Somalia) should find herself under investigation for admitting that she is using her role in Congress to steer U.S. policy as an influence agent of her home nation of Somalia.
“Omar should be investigated,” Norman declared. “[It needs] to be taken seriously because this country is in trouble, and we’ve got to have people who are pro-American, not pro-other countries.”
Norman said Omar, who immigrated to the United States from Somalia as a child, should have loyalties to the United States if she expected to remain in Congress.
“You take an oath when you are elected to Congress . . . to defend and protect America’s interests,” Norman added. “Not Somalia or not any other country.”
In a video that showed Omar speaking in the Somali language, she endorsed Somalia’s territorial expansion.
“Ethiopia and Kenya have stolen and continue to occupy the Somali Region state, which belong to Somalia,” Omar declared. “We will liberate the occupied territories stolen from i.e. Somalia, Djibouti, Somaliland, and the North Eastern Province (in Kenya) that belong to Greater Somalia.”
Omar also assured the people of Somalia that they could “sleep in comfort” knowing she’s protecting “the interests of Somalia” as a U.S. Congresswoman.
“For as long as I am in the U.S. Congress, Somalia will never be in danger, its waters (Indian Ocean) will not be stolen by Ethiopia or others,” Omar added. “The U.S. would not dare to support anyone against Somalia to steal our land or oceans. Sleep in comfort, knowing I am here to protect the interests of Somalia from inside the U.S. system.”
Omar claimed her critics were relying on a faulty translation of her remarks posted to social media, which she claimed were “not only slanted but completely off.”
“But I wouldn’t expect more from these propagandists,” she added.
That defense fell flat when the Deputy Foreign Minister for Somaliland – an unrecognized republic that broke away from Somalia – blasted Omar for endorsing “ethno-racist” language, and voicing support for violent ideology that led to death and destruction in the region.
We were profoundly surprised, even shocked on discovering the remarks made by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) of Minnesota in a recent public forum, widely circulated on most social media platforms and attached below for your reference.
