The White House’s annual Easter celebration is right around the corner.
The fringe of the Democrat Party is furious.
And far-left activists made one mind-blowing demand for Easter that left Jill Biden speechless.
The White House Easter Egg Roll is an annual event held on the South Lawn of the White House that’s a celebration for children.
The tradition began in 1878 under President Rutherford B. Hayes and features kids rolling Easter eggs on the lawn the Monday after Easter.
Animal activists pressure Jill Biden to ditch the eggs
The extreme animal activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are demanding that First Lady Jill Biden replace the eggs at the Easter Egg Roll with potatoes.
PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a letter to Biden that a potato “would be truly inclusive and welcomed by every tot who doesn’t eat eggs for religious, cultural, or environmental reasons or because they object to the way animals are raised and killed these days.”
“Instead of promoting the deleterious factory farming and slaughter industries, will you please initiate the annual White House Potato Roll?” Newkirk’s letter asked.
Newkirk said that a potato roll would encourage kindness and empathy for animals while boosting the nation’s potato farmers.
“Potatoes are the most popular vegetable in the country and can be safely dyed, allowing for spudtacular traditional activities, such as rolling them, seeking for them, and decorating them,” Newkirk said. “You could even hold potato sack races and games of hot potato!”
End the suffering by eggs
PETA said that in the spirit of the Easter season, the eggs should be saved from the “pain and fear” of the annual egg roll.
“Easter should be a time of renewal and joy for everyone, including chickens. But chickens suffer in the cruel, environmentally destructive meat and egg industries, which raise and kill millions of sensitive birds each year,” PETA said.
The American Egg Board donated 30,000 eggs for the White House Easter Egg Roll and 30,000 to area food banks.
“In starch contrast, a potato roll would support U.S. potato farmers and teach tots that our fellow animals are sensitive, feeling beings who deserve respect,” PETA added. “Chickens form complex social hierarchies and can recognize more than 100 individuals of their own species. They feel pain and fear, just as humans do.”
The Biden White House has caved to far-Left activists on things like Gaza and the environment, but there’s no indication they’ll ditch the eggs.
