Nancy Pelosi defended Joe Biden’s senility on national television while privately telling friends he wasn't the same man.
Now she's standing at a podium blaming everyone else for not speaking up sooner.
What Pelosi said on camera in 2024 – before the debate, before the cover-up collapsed – is going to make your jaw drop.
Pelosi at the Sacramento Summit: Fingers Pointing Every Direction But Hers
At Politico's Sacramento Summit, the 86-year-old San Francisco Democrat claimed she "didn't really know" about Biden's cognitive decline before the June 27, 2024, debate.
She claimed she saw Biden maybe three times that entire year.
"I do think that those who did know should have acted upon that information," Pelosi told Politico's Jonathan Martin. "Whoever knew. There was staff saying the family knew. The family said the staff."
That last part is rich – Pelosi pointing at Jill Biden while pretending her own hands are clean.
The problem is that Pelosi's fingerprints are all over this cover-up.
What She Said on CNN While the Cover-Up Was Running
In February 2024, Nancy Pelosi went on CNN with Anderson Cooper and called Biden "very sharp."
"He's always on the ball," she told Cooper. "Anyone who would think that they're at some advantage because of his age thinks that at their peril, because he's very sharp."

Then in June 2024 – three weeks before the debate – the Wall Street Journal dropped a report based on interviews with more than 45 lawmakers and staffers from both parties.
Biden was whispering in meetings, leaning on aides to answer direct questions, and showing no familiarity with his own policies.
Pelosi called it a "hit piece" on X.
She said the story "ignored testimony by Democrats" and "focused on attacks by Republicans."
The Book That Caught Her
Here's what makes that denial unforgivable.
Author Chris Whipple – hardly a conservative – documented in his 2025 book Uncharted that Pelosi attended Biden's Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony at the White House in May 2024 – one month before she called the Journal story a hit piece – and came away telling a friend she was "startled by how much the president had aged."
"He was not the same Joe Biden," she reportedly said.
She privately acknowledged what the Journal reported.

Then she went on X and attacked the reporters who wrote it.
The White House Visitor Logs
Fox News reported in May 2025 that White House visitor logs showed the Democrat leaders who most vocally defended Biden's mental fitness were also the most frequent White House visitors.
They were there.
They saw him.
They kept saying he was fine.
The National Republican Congressional Committee called it "the political scandal of the century" – and they weren't wrong.
Jake Tapper – who spent 2024 on CNN sneering at the Wall Street Journal's reporting and helping run the same cover-up – later admitted in his own book Original Sin that the deception was real and extensive.
More than 200 top Democrats he interviewed after the election believed the deception cost the party the White House.
What This Really Means
Pelosi isn't having a moment of conscience here.
She's repositioning.
With the 2026 midterms approaching and Democrats desperate to rebuild any credibility with the American people, the party needs a villain.
The Bidens – Joe, Jill, and the inner circle – are the easiest targets.
Pelosi helped push Biden out of the race.
Jill Biden has never forgiven her for it.
They haven't spoken since.
Now Pelosi is out in Sacramento implying the Bidens and their staff failed America while she stood by helplessly.
That's not honesty.
That's a four-decade politician managing her legacy.
The American people knew long before Pelosi claims she did.
Conservative media reported it for years and got called liars and ageists for the trouble.
The Wall Street Journal put it in black and white 23 days before the debate and Pelosi called it a hit piece.
She lied to your face.
And now the woman who called Biden "very sharp" on national television wants credit for saying someone should have spoken up sooner.
