The Biden-Harris administration has the pedal to the metal trying to electrify transportation.

Now, the consequences of their reckless “green” schemes are being revealed.

And Kamala Harris stopped dead in her tracks over this electric vehicle catastrophe.

Biden-Harris administration is trying to force electric school buses on the country

Passenger vehicles aren’t the only target of the White House’s scheme to electrify transportation.

They’ve launched an ambitious plan to switch the nation’s school buses from diesel-powered engines to electric.

A mandate was put in place that all new buses purchased by government school districts be electric by 2027.

The Biden-Harris administration’s plan is to have all school bus fleets be electric by 2035.

But, the transition to electric school buses has been fraught with problems.

Electric school buses prove to be a disaster in heavily Democrat county

Montgomery County, Maryland, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., was one of the early adopters of electric school buses.

This heavily Democrat county gave President Joe Biden nearly 80% of the vote in the 2020 Election.

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) announced it was retiring 326 diesel-engine school buses as part of the district’s commitment to climate change in February 2021.

But now, a report from the Montgomery County Office of the Inspector General (OIG) found that this transition has been a disaster so far.

The school district spent nearly $170 million on electric school buses and is turning back to diesel ones because of complications.

Electric school buses have had constant mechanical problems, and the district has dealt with delayed deliveries after purchasing them.

“All of the buses received during fiscal years (FY) 2022-2024 were delivered beyond the contractually required delivery date,” the OIG report read.

This delay caused MCPS to spend “over $14 million to acquire diesel buses to compensate for not receiving the anticipated electric school buses.”

Many of the electric school buses didn’t work for “extended periods,” which left the district scrambling.

“MCPS should have assessed the [electric bus] contractor approximately $372,000 for failing to provide serviceable buses between FYs 2022 and 2024,” the OIG report explained.

The OIG report scolded the school district for wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on its electric school bus rollout.

Former MCPS Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight claimed that electric school buses would be a win for taxpayers and the environment.

“We are going to be saving upwards of 6,500 gallons of diesel fuel per day, and immediately, this is going to cut costs by 50%,” McKnight boasted at a 2022 press conference.

MCPS was supposed to have the largest electric school bus fleet in the county.

But it’s turned into an expensive fiasco for the county.

Electric buses for public transportation and schools have been an unmitigated disaster.

Their batteries catching on fire have been reported since July 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wichita, Kansas, and Hamden, Connecticut.

Other cities have been stuck with nonfunctioning electric buses after their manufacturer Proterra – a company that was touted by Joe Biden and received money from his administration – went bankrupt.

Regardless, the Biden-Harris administration is moving full steam ahead with billions in federal grants to help school districts purchase unreliable electric school buses.
