But the public is still in the dark about many parts of it.

And Patrick Mahomes revealed this big secret about Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance.

Patrick Mahomes talks about his role in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift dating

Kansas City Chiefs star Tight End Travis Kelce and Pop Star Taylor Swift went public with their relationship last September when she showed up to cheer him in a game against the Chicago Bears.

The couple has made headlines ever since on their way to becoming the biggest celebrity couple in the country.

Recently, Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes talked about his role in setting the couple up during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“I feel like I’m a part of their relationship,” McAfee wisecracked.

Mahomes said that he and the rest of the Chiefs like the attention that Swift has brought to the team.

“I like to take some of the credit,” Mahomes said. “I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert when the friendship bracelet [idea came up]. He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker.”

Mahomes and Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at the Chiefs’ Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City last July.

“I had some input in there as well. I was like, ‘Dude, you should go for it. Just go for it.’ And you know Travis, man. He does it. He’s a great dude,” Mahomes added. “I’m glad that it’s all worked out for the best.”

Travis Kelce uses a friendship bracelet to try and make his move with Taylor Swift

Friendship bracelets have emerged as part of the fan experience of attending one of Swift’s concerts during the Eras Tour.

They picked up steam after a line from her song “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” which was released in 2022 when the tour was announced.

“So, make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it,” the lyric from “You’re on Your Own, Kid” states.

Travis Kelce revealed on his podcast New Heights with his brother Jason Kelce that he tried to use a friendship bracelet to give Swift his phone number on it.

“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it,” Kelce explained.

He tried to give the pop star the friendship bracelet at the Arrowhead Stadium show but failed to meet her.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said.

The Chiefs star said that he was a little upset that his plan to give Swift the bracelet didn’t work.

“I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce lamented.

Fortunately for Travis Kelce, the missed connection on the friendship bracelet became a minor footnote in their romance.
