Kamala Harris’ husband admits to an affair with the babysitter
Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has kept a relatively low profile during her political career.
He’s usually playing the role of the supportive husband.
But he found himself confessing his role in a scandal while his wife is getting her Presidential campaign off the ground.
Conservative journalist Laura Loomer broke a story that Emhoff cheated on his ex-wife.
The Daily Mail picked up the story and ran with it.
Emhoff cheated on his then-wife, Kerstin Emhoff, with a younger teacher, Najen Naylor, at the private school in Los Angeles where they sent their children.
His affair with the Naylor, which resulted in her getting pregnant, contributed greatly to their marriage ending up in a divorce.
A source told the Daily Mail that Naylor didn’t keep the child.
The story never revealed whether that meant an abortion or she gave it up for adoption.
Naylor didn’t deny the affair when the outlet confronted her about it.
Emhoff issued a statement admitting to it hours after the Daily Mail story was published.
“During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions,” Emhoff said. “I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side.”
The Emhoffs divorced in 2010, and he married Harris in 2014.
Kerstin Emhoff also issued a statement after the news broke.
“Doug and I decided to end our marriage for a variety of reasons, many years ago,” Kerstin Emhoff said. “He is a great father to our kids, continues to be a great friend to me and I am really proud of the warm and supportive blended family Doug, Kamala, and I have built together.”

The Washington Post reported that President Joe Biden’s team knew about the affair when they vetted Harris to be his Vice President.
Harris also allegedly knew about her husband’s affair with a younger woman.
Democrats tried to dismiss the story as a personal matter that was none of the public’s concern.
But if Harris is elected President, Emhoff would have a large taxpayer-provided staff as the First Gentleman.
