Chris Cuomo was one of the many Trump-hating journalists on CNN.

After he was fired from the network, he charted a different path.

And Donald Trump got one scary call from Chris Cuomo he never saw coming.

Media yawns at latest assassination attempt against Donald Trump

Secret Service agents stopped an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump while he was playing golf at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

This was the second close call the former President suffered after he was shot at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.

A leading Presidential candidate facing two assassination attempts in roughly two months should have been one of the biggest news stories in decades.

But it was met with a collective yawn from the media.

The media tried to blame Trump for his latest attempt on his life by citing his alleged dangerous rhetoric during the campaign.

Many journalists believe the former President got what he had coming.

NewsNation host Chris Cuomo was a typical Trump-hating host when he had a show on CNN.

But he’s turned over a new leaf after he was fired and joined upstart cable news network NewsNation.

Cuomo revealed on his show that he called Trump after the latest assassination attempt to offer him an apology.

“What really bothers me is the lack of reaction to the second attempt on Trump in the last couple of months. ‘The guy didn’t even shoot,’” Cuomo said about the media.

Cuomo thought they would be singing a different tune if it was a Democrat.

“Oh, what if it was your father?” Cuomo asked. “Or Kamala Harris? Or President Biden, God forbid? Do you think it would be almost a shoulder shrug and more talk about the Secret Service and the allocation of funds? Rather than just how crazy it is that this is happening in our country?”

He scolded the media for trying to downplay the story because they don’t like Trump.

“That reaction of, ‘Oh well, don’t make too much of it.’ He had an AK-47 pointed at him!” Cuomo exclaimed. “The reaction is unacceptable. And it is the second time media and political figures have gotten away with playing down what should have been a cause for panic.”

Chris Cuomo calls Trump to apologize

Cuomo said that he called Trump to apologize for the media’s reaction to the latest assassination attempt.

“I called him today because I am ashamed of how we are responding and not responding to the threats on him, and I feel for his family,” Cuomo said. “You can roll your eyes and say he asked for it . . . but we’ve got to get out of the judgment business unless it is judging ourselves.”

Cuomo praised Trump’s strength in the face of adversity.

“I gotta tell you, I don’t know how he stays in the race,” Cuomo explained. “How he got up after being shot in the head . . . He gets up, pumping his fist, stays in the race, barely even talks about it.”

“That’s why I reached out to Trump,” Cuomo explained. “I just wanted to say I’m really sorry that this is going on. And it is being dealt with this way. He doesn’t deserve this.”

He said that if he went through what Trump did no one would see him on TV again.

Andrew Cuomo has undergone a surprising transformation after he left CNN.
