Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton are two of the most well-known celebrities on the planet.
The two starred in the 1984 American musical comedy film Rhinestone.
And a reporter just shared a secret about Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton that caught everyone by surprise.
78-year-old Dolly Parton is known primarily for her country music career that spanned several decades.
With a career of more than 50 years, Parton has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and is considered a “country legend” in the industry.
But Parton also had a successful career as an actress.
As an actress, Parton starred in 9 to 5, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Steel Magnolias, Straight Talk, and Joyful Noise.
In 1984, she co-starred alongside Sylvester Stallone in the film Rhinestone where he played a wannabe country music singer.
Despite having two popular celebrities, Rhinestone ended up as a critical and financial failure.
But Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone became very close friends during the filming of Rhinestone.
During a recent interview with Saga Exceptional, Parton recalled how Stallone helped her get in shape while filming the comedy.
Parton said they filmed Rhinestone at a time when she “had lost a lot of confidence because I had also gained weight and any time you don’t look good, you don’t feel as good about yourself.”
She said Stallone helped her stop eating unhealthy foods and start exercising.
“And he’d tell me, ‘You’ve got to stop eating white bread and processed stuff,’ and I’d say, ‘But I’m a country girl!'” Parton said. “I still eat those things, just not as often as I used to.”
“I really worry a lot about young girls today because they think they have to look like the models or the people on television,” she added. “We need to be accepting of ourselves in how we are.”
But Parton also had an impact on Stallone’s 27-year marriage to model Jennifer Flavin.
Parton has been married to her husband Carl Dean for 57 years.
Dean is suffering from severe Alzheimer’s disease.
And an anonymous source told Globe Magazine that their relationship inspired Stallone to be a better husband to his wife.
“Sly’s taken note of Dolly’s amazing love story and that’s helped him to keep things solid in his own marriage,” the source claimed.
Apparently, Dolly Parton’s southern style taught Stallone how to be a better husband.
“He used to be this macho tough guy and that wasn’t doing him any favors at home,” the source continued. “This new countrified attitude has had a calming effect on Sly.”
Stallone’s wife filed for a divorce in August of 2022.
But she changed her mind a month later and today they remain happily married.
And this is in large part due to Parton’s influence on him during the filming of Rhinestone.
