CNN is at the center of a debate about media bias in the 2024 election.

The press coverage of the campaign is veering into the comical with how so-called “journalists” work to elect Kamala Harris.

And what this liberal comic said about CNN caused the audience to burst out laughing.

Audience laughs at the idea CNN is a straight news network

Kaitlin Collins used to work at Fox News and the Daily Caller.

But since joining CNN – first as a White House correspondent and then the host of her own primetime show – Collins is indistinguishable from Jim Acosta or any other anti-Trump liberal CNN puts on the air.

Collins appeared on liberal Stephen Colbert’s late-night show.

Shows like Colbert’s used to exist so movie stars could promote their new film or as a showcase for up-and-coming stand-up comics to build a national profile.

Now, they are group therapy sessions for college-educated liberals.

That’s why a low-rated anchor like Collins ends up as a featured guest on a late-night talk show.

But there was one unintentional bit of comedy in the Collins interview.

That came when Colbert told Collins that CNN was a straight news organization that played it down the middle.

“I know you guys are objective over there, that you just report the news as it is,” Colbert said.

The audience burst out laughing at the idea CNN was real news, which threw Colbert off.

“No, I know, CNN makes uhhh . . .” Colbert said as the laughter at CNN caused him to lose his train of thought.

“Was that supposed to be a laugh line?” a stunned Collins asked.

“It wasn’t supposed to be, but I guess it is,” Colbert responded.

CNN’s lack of credibility

Many Americans view CNN as a Super PAC that supports the Democrat Party as opposed to a legitimate news organization.

CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash moderated the June 27 debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden despite the fact that both were on record comparing Donald Trump to Adolph Hitler.

A 2023 Gallup poll found just 32 percent of Americans trusted the media.

That matched the historic low from 2016.

It’s no coincidence that the nadir of trust in the media occurred during Donald Trump’s time in politics.

That’s because Trump caused liberals – like those at CNN – to lose their minds and abandon any pretense of journalistic objectivity to instead rip off the mask and become unhinged pro-Democrat partisans.
