Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine is an international crisis, the likes of which we haven’t seen in years, if not decades.
As a result, Putin’s actions have been, rightly, condemned by both Republicans and Democrats alike.
But John Kerry, a man known for saying some of the dumbest things possible, just made a comment so profoundly stupid about Russia and Ukraine that you’ll be fuming mad for weeks to come.
In case you were wondering, Joe Biden tapped John Kerry to serve as the “Climate Czar” for his administration.
Thankfully, we haven’t heard much from John Kerry since he got the job, although that could be due to the fact that Biden has been such a horrible president, the media hasn’t had to focus on the less important members of the Biden-Harris Administration.
However, every so often John Kerry will stick his foot in his mouth so badly that the media cannot help but cover it.
And that is exactly what happened in an interview on Monday on BBC Arabic.
The interview started off fine, when Climate Czar Kerry was asked about the situation in Ukraine he said, “I’m concerned about Ukraine because of the people of Ukraine and because of the principles that are at risk, in terms of international law and trying to change boundaries of international law by force…I thought we lived in a world that had said no to that kind of activity. And I hope diplomacy will win.”
Some folks may think that was an okay answer to the question, but unfortunately for John Kerry, he kept talking.
Czar Kerry continued, “But it could have a profound negative impact on the climate obviously. You have a war and obviously, you’re going to have massive emissions consequences to the war. But equally importantly, you’re going to lose people’s focus, you’re going to lose certainly big country attention because they will be diverted and I think it could have a damaging impact.”
If you’re not angry yet keep reading because Kerry wasn’t finished.
Instead of focusing on the loss of life, economic implications, violation of international law, or the threat Russia’s actions pose to the world order, Kerry doubled down on his climate change obsession by saying, “So, you know, I think hopefully President Putin would realize that in the northern part of his country, they used to live on 66% of the nation that was over frozen land…Now it’s thawing, and his infrastructure is at risk…And the people of Russia are at risk. And so I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate.”
And there you have it, John Kerry appears to care more about the climate than the fact that we could be seeing the beginning of World War III.
However, this amazing feat of tone-deafness should surprise no one since Kerry flies around the world in a private jet to chastise everyone else about carbon emissions for a living.
