Hillary Clinton will never get over losing the 2016 election to Donald Trump.
Clinton’s bitterness is driving her over the edge.
And what Hillary Clinton said about Trump supporters will make your blood boil.
Hillary Clinton doubles down on her “deplorables” smear
Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election in part because Americans saw that liberal elites like Hillary looked down their noses at Americans who lived in flyover country.
Clinton’s infamous smear of half of all Trump supporters being irredeemable racists who belonged in a “basket of deplorables” encapsulated this attitude.
But Clinton doesn’t appear chastened at all.
Instead, in a Washington Post op-ed entitled “To err is human, to empathize is superhuman,” Clinton made it clear that her only problem in saying that half of all Trump supporters are subhuman is that she was too accurate and cited the “very fine people” and January 6 insurrection hoaxes as her evidence.
“In 2016, I famously described half of Trump’s supporters as ‘the basket of deplorables.’ I was talking about the people who are drawn to his racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia — you name it. The people for whom his bigotry is a feature, not a bug. It was an unfortunate choice of words and bad politics, but it also got at an important truth. Just look at everything that has happened in the years since, from Charlottesville to Jan. 6,” Clinton wrote.
Clinton then wrote she should have used stronger and more insulting language to describe Trump supporters.
“The masks have come off, and if anything, ‘deplorable’ is too kind a word for the hate and violent extremism we’ve seen from some Trump supporters,” Clinton continued.
Hillary Clinton’s extreme rhetoric towards Trump supporters
This op-ed fits a pattern of increasingly hostile rhetoric toward Trump supporters by Hillary Clinton.
In an October 2023 interview with CNN, Clinton suggested that Democrats round up Trump supporters and send them to communist-style re-education camps to break their support for Donald Trump.
“And, sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists take their marching orders from Donald Trump, who has no credibility left by any measure. He’s only in it for himself. He’s now defending himself in civil actions and criminal actions. And when do they break with him?” Clinton wondered.
“Because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members, but something needs to happen,” Clinton declared.
Ever since Donald Trump came on the scene, Democrats and the media asked themselves what it would take for the so-called “fever to break” and for politics to revert to the pre-Trump status quo.
Hillary Clinton’s suggestion of psychological manipulation is the most extreme example.
But one thing liberals never consider is that it’s their woke, pro-open borders agenda that is driving the populist conservative anger towards the establishment.
Democrats want to have their cake and eat it too.
Liberals believe they don’t have to change a thing policy wise and that Donald Trump’s support will also evaporate.
