Joe Biden spent four years insisting America had never been more prosperous.
JD Vance just went on Fox News – on friendly turf, with a friendly host – and told the American people what those four years actually cost them.
The Vice President dropped a number that Democrats have been running from since the day Biden left office, and what comes next has the entire left scrambling to change the subject.
Bidenflation Cost the Average Family $3,000 — Here's the Receipts
Vance didn't mince words on America's Newsroom Wednesday morning.
The Biden administration left behind "the highest peacetime debt in American history" and inflation that stripped the average American household of $3,000 in real take-home pay.
That's not a talking point – it's Bureau of Labor Statistics data, verified multiple times over.
Prices rose 21.5 percent across Biden's four years in office.
Wages grew just 19.9 percent.
Inflation outpaced wages for 26 straight months – two full years of every paycheck buying less than the one before it.
Your grocery bill went up. Your mortgage payment jumped 89 percent compared to when Biden took office.
Credit card debt blew past $1 trillion as families tried to bridge the gap.
Meanwhile, Biden stood at podiums and told you inflation was someone else's problem.
The 2026 Tax Refund Season Is the Biggest in History — And Biden's People Know It
Here's where it turns.
Vance told Fox News that Americans are "about to get over the hump" – and the numbers back him up.
Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill delivered something no president had ever put into law: deductions eliminating federal taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security income for seniors.
The IRS projects this will be the largest tax refund season in American history – average refunds up $1,000 over last year, with families of two kids earning around $73,000 facing zero federal tax liability.
Waitresses who worked double shifts. Nurses who pulled overtime. Retirees on fixed Social Security checks.
Every one of them is getting money back that four years of Bidenflation stole.
Vance also pointed to the manufacturing investment wave hitting the country – trillions in new factory commitments generating construction jobs right now, with full manufacturing employment following once those facilities open.
Real wages for blue-collar workers are on track to rise $1,300 this year.
Mining and logging workers are looking at $2,200 in gains.
Construction workers, $1,400.
That's an economy being rebuilt – not managed into further decline.
Democrats Know the Trump Economy Is Working — And the 2026 Midterms Terrify Them
Chuck Schumer called Trump's State of the Union a "state of delusion."
He didn't dispute a single number Vance laid out.
The contrast is simple.
Biden inherited a functioning economy, spent four years claiming credit for pandemic recovery while inflation ate your paycheck, then handed Trump the bill.
Trump signed the biggest working-family tax cut in American history and is now watching real wages outpace inflation for the first time in years.
Vance acknowledged Wednesday that there's still a gap to close – the cumulative $1,800 difference between where household wages stand today and where they were before Bidenflation arrived.
Democrats built four years of economic spin on the hope that Americans would forget what things cost in 2020.
This tax season, roughly 94 million households are filing returns under a tax code that didn't exist under Biden – one that puts money back in the pockets of waitresses, truck drivers, and retirees instead of funding the bureaucracy that made everything more expensive in the first place.
Schumer can call it a delusion.
The refund checks say otherwise.
