America's universities have become breeding grounds for radical leftist ideology.
Parents trust these institutions to prepare teachers for the classroom.
And a University of Illinois whistleblower exposed one nasty fact about what's happening in teacher training.
Required Education Course Pushes Extreme Left-Wing Agenda
The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign just got caught red-handed indoctrinating future teachers with radical leftist propaganda.
A brave student whistleblower leaked PowerPoint slides from EDUC 201, a required first-semester course titled "Identity and Difference in Education," to Fox News Digital.
The slides reveal systematic brainwashing that has nothing to do with teaching students how to read, write, or do math.
Professor Gabriel Rodriguez teaches EDUC 201 in the university's college of education — and his course materials read like a playbook for radical activism rather than educational instruction.
Week 15's lesson was called "Living in Uncertainty: Understanding Immigrant, Migrant, & Refugee Student Populations" and contained 25 slides promoting leftist talking points on immigration.¹
The very first slide features a photo from a demonstration with a sign reading "No human being is illegal."
Then things get worse.
Professor Attacks Trump and Polices Students' Language
A slide titled "Language Matters" literally polices how future teachers are allowed to speak about immigration.
The course demands students "embrace using humanizing language when talking about immigrant communities that don't have documentation — consider using the language of 'undocumented.'"²
According to the slide, calling someone an "illegal immigrant," "illegal alien," or just "illegal" causes harm because the words are "dehumanizing and degrading" while promoting "existing negative stereotypes."
Rodriguez's presentation relies on PBS News to claim just 13.7 million illegal aliens live in America.³
That's garbage. Yale researchers calculated in 2018 that America houses between 16 million and 29 million illegal aliens, with 22.1 million as the average estimate — and Biden's four-year open borders disaster happened after that study.⁴
Rodriguez features his own study in the course materials — titled "'This is What I go Through:' Latinx Youth Facultades in Suburban Schools in the Era of Trump."
His study blames "White supremacy and xenophobia brought on by … Trump" for problems faced by illegal alien students.⁵
One slide quotes an illegal alien named Jose worrying about deportation: "If anything happens to me at least I have good grades, [to] build on my case. Maybe if I'm excellent they won't kick me out."
Students Learn Activism Instead of Teaching Methods
The whistleblowing student told Fox News Digital something even more disturbing about how Rodriguez presents this material.
"So in the lectures, my professor would constantly say, 'you as educators, you as future educators, you need to do this, you need to know this,'" the student explained.⁶
"That's one thing that he says, just over and over, like 'we as future educators,' kind of reminding us like, oh, we need to use this when we go to teach later on."
The course even includes slides instructing future teachers on how to deal with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in school settings.
But here's the real scandal: this required course teaches virtually nothing about actual education.
"This class was required and this is like one of the first education classes I'm taking," the anonymous student said.⁷
"And so far, I haven't actually learned anything for education about, like, how to set up a classroom, what methods work best with kids for learning — just like basic curriculum that kids are going to be taught, like math and science. There's nothing of that that I've been taught."
Instead of learning teaching methods, students get lectured about "microaggressions" — which Rodriguez defines as "everyday, verbal, nonverbal slights, snubs, or insults regardless of intent that sends a hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their minoritized group membership."⁸
Race and Gender Politics Replace Educational Instruction
Another week's lecture taught that when minority students stay quiet in class, it's because of racism or sexism — not because they're shy or thinking.
The slides explain "Internalized Oppression" as "assumed racial inferiority on the part of people of color."⁹
Anecdotes from unnamed high school students blame White classmates for ignoring their ideas or taking credit for their work.
The slides feature videos from Beverly Daniel Tatum, author of "Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?" and president emerita of the historically Black Spelman College.
Tatum declares in the featured video: "We're all influenced by race and racism in our society" and claims "We are still dealing with racial hierarchies" and "white supremacy."¹⁰
Week 12's presentation titled "Supporting LGBTQ+ Students in Schools" cites the far-left ACLU claiming 2024 was a "record year for anti-LGBT+ legislation."
One slide makes a blunt admission: "Remember: Schools are a part of a larger political system. As such, education, at its core is inherently political."¹¹
The University of Illinois refused to respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
Rodriguez also ignored multiple requests for comment about his course materials.
This is the dirty little secret about America's teacher training programs — they've been captured by radical leftists who care more about indoctrinating the next generation than educating them.
Parents send their kids to these future teachers expecting them to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Instead, they're getting activists trained to push illegal immigration, blame America for racism, and police everyone's language.
