For two years Democrats and the media spun a story to the American people about January 6.
Now those lies are about to be exposed.
And that’s because Tucker Carlson got his hands on a secret January 6 video that has Democrats in panic mode.
Ever since January 6, the media and Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Committee set the narrative about that day with cherry-picked video footage and carefully selected leaks.
Conservatives claimed airing all the footage from that day would undercut the narrative Donald Trump planned an insurrection to overthrow the government.
But without a full airing of all 41,000 hours of video footage from the Capitol’s surveillance cameras, the Left’s storyline about January 6 went unchallenged.
With Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats out of power that all changed.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy defended his decision to grant Tucker Carlson exclusive access to the entire January 6 security camera footage explaining that it was in the nation’s best interest for everyone to see the full picture of what really happened that day.
“I was asked in the press about these tapes, and I said they do belong to the American public. I think sunshine lets everybody make their own judgment,” McCarthy explained.
This – of course – set the media’s hair on fire.
Liberal media outlets whined that Carlson was an opinion host and only they could be trusted to view the footage and report on its contents to the American people.
CBS News, CNN, Politico, ProPublica, ABC, Axios, Advance, Scripps, the Los Angeles Times, and Gannett all hired legal representation to demand McCarthy turn the footage over to them.
“Without full public access to the complete historical record, there is concern that an ideologically-based narrative of an already polarizing event will take hold in the public consciousness, with destabilizing risks to the legitimacy of Congress, the Capitol Police, and the various federal investigations and prosecutions of January 6 crimes,” attorney Charles Tobin – who is representing wrote in a letter to McCarthy.
“Now that the CCTV videos have been released to one member of the news media – one whose program is categorized by its own network as opinion programming – they must be released to the rest of the news media as well,” Tobin’s letter added.
These liberal media organizations have no interest in reporting the truth or facts.
They want to suppress any video that might undercut the narrative they weaved about January 6.
And Carlson’s first comments about what he and his producers saw showed the Left had plenty to worry about.
Carlson told viewers the initial footage his team viewed directly contradicted some of the so-called “facts” the press reported about January 6.
“We have been there about a week, our producers — some of our smartest producers — have been there looking at this stuff and trying to figure out what it means, and how it contradicts, or not, the story that we’ve been told for two years,” Carlson stated.
“We think, in some ways, it already does contradict that story,” Carlson concluded.
