Americans got hammered by inflation under Joe Biden for four years.
Working families watched their savings evaporate as grocery bills doubled and gas prices soared.
But Trump's IRS chief just confirmed one prediction that will have millions racing to file early.
The Biden Years Were Financial Hell For Working Americans
Biden told Americans the economy was "strong" while they emptied their wallets at the pump and the checkout line.
Inflation hit 40-year highs and working families lost thousands in purchasing power while tax refunds barely kept pace.
Now Frank Bisignano, Trump's first-ever CEO of the IRS, just dropped a bombshell that has Democrats squirming in their seats.
"You're going to look at probably 94% — plus of middle-class Americans getting a boost, your tax rates coming down and getting the benefit going forward," Bisignano told Fox Business Tuesday morning.¹
He didn't stop there.
"You'll see all our Social Security recipients getting up to a $6,000 benefit as Trump committed to the benefits of Social Security not being taxed," Bisignano continued. "It will be the biggest refunds that we've ever seen, and it's all because of the president's leadership and the Treasury secretary's under 'One Big Beautiful Bill,' which is unparalleled."²
Translation: Trump just delivered what Biden couldn't — real money back in American workers' pockets.
Trump's Tax Cuts Delivering What Biden Never Could
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent projects "$100 [billion]-$150 billion of refunds, which could be between $1,000 and $2,000 per household."³
Kevin Hassett, Trump's National Economic Council Director, went further: "We are going to see the biggest refund cycle ever in the history of America, and people are going to get massive refund checks."⁴
The reason for this windfall has Democrats furious.
Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" passed in July made sweeping tax changes retroactive to 2025, but the IRS didn't adjust withholding tables during the year.
That means millions of Americans overpaid their taxes in 2025 without realizing it.
Now they're getting it all back at once when they file their 2026 returns.
The tax package permanently locked in Trump's 2017 tax cuts that doubled the standard deduction and lowered marginal rates for working families.
But Trump went further this time.
The bill raised the standard deduction another $1,500 per family, boosted the Child Tax Credit to $2,200 and indexed it to inflation, eliminated taxes on tips and overtime pay, gave seniors a $6,000 tax break, and expanded health savings accounts and 529 education accounts.⁵
Middle and upper-middle-income households — families earning between $60,000 and $400,000 — stand to benefit most according to analysis from financial services firm Piper Sandler.⁶
These are the families Biden's inflation crushed hardest.
Now Trump's giving them relief Biden never delivered.
Biden's Economic Record Exposed
Look at what Biden delivered versus what Trump's bringing Americans.
Under Biden, the average tax refund stayed stuck around $3,000 even as inflation ravaged family budgets.⁷
That pathetic increase did nothing to offset the 20% cumulative inflation Americans suffered.
Families earning $73,000 save over $2,000 annually under Trump's tax cuts, proving Democrats' claims that tax cuts only help the wealthy were lies.⁸
Biden spent his presidency lying about his economic record while Americans' bank accounts told the real story.
He released his 2023 tax returns showing he and Jill earned $619,976 and paid an effective rate of 23.7%.⁹
Nice work if you can get it while telling working Americans making $50,000 their inflation concerns are overblown.
Trump's making good on his campaign promises to put money back in workers' pockets.
Bisignano, who Trump picked after a career running massive financial services companies like Fiserv and First Data, brings private sector efficiency to an agency that desperately needed it.¹⁰
The contrast couldn't be clearer.
Biden gave Americans inflation and excuses.
Trump's delivering the largest tax refund season in American history.
Democrats can't spin their way out of that reality.
