Donald Trump is putting together a team to secure the southern border.

His administration will be ready to hit the ground running on day one.

And Trump’s “Border Czar” got some backup that made Democrats worried sick.

Donald Trump brings back Border Patrol chief fired by Joe Biden

President-elect Donald Trump named former acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director Tom Homan as his “Border Czar.”

Homan will be the point man on Trump’s plan to run the largest mass deportation operation in the country’s history.

Trump added to his team to secure the border with a casualty of the Biden-Harris administration.

He announced that he was selecting former U.S. Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott to serve as the director of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

“Rodney served nearly three decades in the Border Patrol, building vast experience and knowledge in Law Enforcement and Border Security,” Trump said in a statement. “Rodney served as the 24th Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol, where he implemented Remain-in-Mexico, Title 42, Safe Third Agreements, and achieved record low levels of illegal immigration.”

Scott was forced out of his position as head of the Border Patrol in June 2021 because he opposed federal law enforcement being banned from using the word “illegal alien” after a change enforced by the Biden-Harris administration.

“I received my 3R letter today. For those not familiar, that is Federal government slang for the letter issued to [Senior Executive Service] level employees informing them of a directed reassignment. The recipient has 3 options- relocate, resign, or retire. No rationale or reason is required, nor is it disciplinary,” Scott wrote in 2021. “Just a simple needs of the service directed reassignment so the new administration can place the person they want in the position.”

Trump has a veteran to command CBP

Scott had a decorated career working for the Border Patrol where he climbed the ladder from starting as a Border Patrol agent in California in 1992 to ultimately being tapped by Trump to lead the agency during his first term.

He’ll oversee 65,000 employees at the CBP, which includes the Border Patrol and several smaller agencies.

Morale had plummeted at the Border Patrol during the Biden-Harris administration after agents were pulled from doing their job securing the border to help process illegal aliens.

The Border Patrol was pushed to the brink dealing with the border crisis for four years and many agents planned to quit if Vice President Kamala Harris won the election.

“We have hope. We can take care of our country and our citizens. Do what we took an oath to do. Bring pride back to our agency,” a Texas Border Patrol agent told the Washington Examiner after Trump’s win. “We felt like we were forced to turn our backs on our country! No more!!!”

Scott was a pick that was popular with rank-and-file Border Patrol agents who wanted to get to work securing the border.

“I am loving it,” a Border Patrol agent told the Washington Examiner in a phone call. “We’re all ecstatic. it was needed because this administration that’s in right now that we’re living under, they’ve left a pretty bad taste in our mouths, and the morale is pretty low because of it. We got sick and tired of watching the criminals and everyone get away with everything. There was a reason everyone named us the ‘Welcome Patrol.’”
