And Travis Kelce revealed one thing about Taylor Swift that put jaws on the floor.
Kelce dishes on what made him fall for Swift
Travis Kelce’s whirlwind relationship with Taylor Swift began last fall.
On an episode of the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Kelce revealed when he knew he was head over heels for the pop megastar.
Kelce explained the one thing he really appreciated about Swift was she understands the attention and demands her level of stardom attracts, but also has to navigate everything to keep everything as normal as possible for the people in her life.
“She’s very self-aware. She understands situations like that and I think that’s why I started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends, family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention and she just keeps it so chill, so cool and I can admire that,” Kelce claimed.
Kelce explained that when he and Swift began dating, he told Swift he would set up an elaborate security protocol for her to attend the Chief’s September 24 game against the Chicago Bears so Swift could slip into Arrowhead Stadium unnoticed.
But Swift told Kelce not to bother and rolled up to the regular entrance the players and the family used to make her way to the suite where she watched the game with Kelce’s family.
Swift doesn’t act bigtime
“The first game she came to against the Bears, I was like, ‘Hey, yeah I can probably set you up with everything.’ And she just walked right through the front door,” Kelce added.
Kelce said, at that point, he knew he was dealing with a genuine person who doesn’t think they are the sun everyone else revolves around.
“She was just like, ‘I want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.’ I was like, she got buku points for that. I was just like, damn, she’s in the madness man. She wants to be a part of it. She wants to support me and do things like that. I was like, man, she really won me over with that one,” Kelce continued.
At the same time, Kelce said he understood dating Swift meant sacrificing some aspects of your privacy.
“You want to keep things private, but at the same time, I’m not here to hide anything,” Kelce explained.
On the other hand, Kelce said he couldn’t be more proud of Swift and everything she’s accomplished in life, so he doesn’t see a reason to play spy games with their relationship.
“That’s my girl, you know what I mean? That’s my lady, so it’s like, I’m proud of that. I’m not sitting here trying to juggle like, ‘How can I keep this under wraps?’” Kelce stated.
But there’s a cost to being a celebrity.
Taylor Swift makes news if she wears a certain style of socks because millions of girls will want to emulate her.
Kelce admitted it can be difficult dealing with that type of fishbowl existence.
“You just don’t want to let everyone into your personal life and be able to comment on it, knowing that everything she does is getting a headline,” Kelce concluded.
When Kelce and Swift first began dating, there were some who wondered if it was a publicity stunt.
They quickly disabused anyone of that notion.
Kelce and Swift are clearly very much in love.
