Top military officials are scared to answer one simple question about wokeness

The Biden-Harris administration has injected wokeness into every area of government.

It’s becoming a legitimate threat to the country’s national security.

And top military officials are scared to answer one simple question about wokeness.

The military goes woke under Joe Biden

President Joe Biden issued an executive order to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout the federal government.

The military wasn’t spared from his woke DEI agenda.

And the armed forces were turned into a college sociology experiment.

Troops had to attend training on critical race theory and radical gender ideologies.

Instead of maintaining readiness, soldiers received instruction on the proper use of preferred pronouns.

Army Veteran James Fitzpatrick decided to call the Department of Defense on its bluff that DEI helps America’s national security.

He runs the Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) – a nonpartisan Defense Department watchdog group.

CASA filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the Defense Department to determine how the $86.5 million the department spent on DEI benefited national security.

Fitzpatrick told The Center Square the FOIA request was received more than three months ago, but the department hasn’t handed over any of the documents requested.

The steep price of the military going woke

“The Department of Defense has stated that diversity, equity, and inclusion is the American military’s greatest strength but has rarely detailed how,” CASA’s FOIA request states. “Given the recent hiring freeze on DEI related positions, it must follow that national security has been affected in some way. The information obtained is necessary to evaluate the impact of DEI initiatives and financing on prioritizing efforts to advance national security.”

This year’s National Defense Authorization Act – the federal government’s annual defense funding bill – included a freeze on new DEI hires while the Government Accountability Office evaluates that funding.

CASA asked the Defense Department how freezing DEI hires would affect the country’s national security.

The group filed a lawsuit against the Defense Department after it stonewalled them with the FOIA request.

“If diversity, equity, and inclusion are truly the military’s greatest strengths, or there have been times where they have said it is critical to the success of the military, then if the DOD is imposing a DEI hiring freeze . . . then there must be a corresponding lack of national security that goes along with it, if their position is spending more on DEI means military gets better and stronger,” Fitzpatrick told The Center Square.

Biden’s Defense Department claims that diversity is the military’s greatest strength.

“They are legally required to produce records,” Fitzpatrick said. “They haven’t. They are well over the friendly threshold to provide records, and really they just need to engage in a conversation. By this point, they very well should have reached out and said they’ve started the search.”

Defense Department DEI spending has increased under the Biden-Harris administration with more dedicated DEI positions and training for the military.

“Advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) across the Department is not about checking a box; it’s about obtaining the critical skills and experience to build the Total Force necessary to secure our nation for years to come,” the Defense Department states.

The truth is, the military has shifted its focus away from national security to a woke political agenda under the Biden-Harris administration.
