Boston activists surrounded a federal vehicle outside an alleged child rapist's home.
The suspect lived next to an elementary school – and the protesters told ICE it was they who were traumatizing the children.
ICE pulled back, the child rapist walked free for another month, and Tom Homan is done waiting for consequences.
The Boston Case That Broke Through the Noise
Walter Roberto Vides-Ortez entered the United States illegally through Texas in 2016 – the same year El Salvador issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of aggravated rape of a minor.
He spent nearly a decade living near a Boston school, a wanted foreign fugitive hiding in a sanctuary city.
On February 12, ICE agents were parked outside his East Boston home, waiting for him to emerge.
That's when the activists showed up.
They blew whistles, screamed obscenities, and surrounded the federal vehicles – all while accusing ICE officers of traumatizing the neighborhood children.
The children they were supposedly protecting lived a few blocks from a man wanted for raping a child.
ICE's cover was blown, no arrest was made, and Vides-Ortez disappeared back inside.
He stayed free for another 26 days.
ICE finally arrested Vides-Ortez on March 10.
Homan Says Zero Tolerance – or This Keeps Happening
Homan went on The Ingraham Angle Tuesday and didn't soften it.
"We're not doing enough," he said.
"There needs to be zero tolerance on anybody impeding a law enforcement officer."
Homan pointed directly at DOJ and demanded they treat interference with federal immigration operations the same way any obstruction of federal law enforcement gets treated – with prosecution and prison time.
The law to charge them already exists.
Surrounding a federal vehicle during an active operation and forcing agents to abort – that's a federal crime right now, today, with felony penalties up to 20 years.
DOJ just won't use it.
What Happens When Consequences Don't Follow
The activists in Boston are not naive about what they're doing.
They have a playbook – show up, make a scene, blow the operation, and dare DOJ to come after them.
Homan said it directly: "When they start seeing consequences, when they start going to prison for doing stuff like that, because not only are they putting the ICE officer's life in danger, they're putting the community in danger."

That last part is the part the media buries.
Boston isn't an isolated case – it's a model.
Minnesota activists ran the same operation.
Video from St. Paul shows an ICE agent pointing to a vehicle honking outside an active operation targeting a child sex offender: "That vehicle right there is honking and impeding our investigations while we're trying to arrest a child sex offender. That's who you guys are protecting. Insane."
DHS has documented that 70% of ICE arrests involve individuals who are public safety threats or criminals – convicted, charged, or wanted in their home countries.
Vides-Ortez was all three.
The Only Thing Standing Between Your Neighborhood and the Next Vides-Ortez
The left has spent a year arguing that ICE is targeting harmless families.
Every case like this one destroys that argument – and they know it.
So they run the playbook again.
Surround the vehicles.
Blow the whistles.
Accuse the officers of traumatizing children.
And they keep doing it because nothing happens to them afterward.

Homan is right that DOJ has to make obstruction of federal immigration operations expensive.
A felony charge and a federal trial changes the math for every activist who thinks showing up with a whistle is consequence-free.
Vides-Ortez spent nearly a decade in Boston, wanted for child rape, and the city's sanctuary policies made sure nobody came looking.
The activists who burned the February 12 operation went home feeling righteous.
The children on that street had no idea who their neighbor was – and for 26 extra days, thanks to those activists, neither did ICE.
