No one has collected enemies in Hollywood quite like Tim Allen.
But that’s what happens when you promote American family values.
And Tim Allen just opened up about his new hit show that is pissing off all the right people.
Television needs Tim Allen
There are very few reasons these days to watch channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, or Fox.
As these stations continue to turn on the American people, they produce horrid programs that literally no one wants to watch.
When a horrible show like the Masked Singer is considered one of the best shows on traditional television, then you know you have a big problem.
If not for live sports programs and Tim Allen shows, traditional television wouldn’t have enough viewers to pay the bills.
Tim Allen really has carried traditional television over the years with his classic sitcoms.
His shows like Last Man Standing and Home Improvement have been fan favorites and some of the only shows that middle America would watch.
And his latest show, Shifting Gears, is already a fan favorite after a few episodes.

But Shifting Gears almost never happened since Allen was hesitant at first about the show.
As Allen told Us Weekly, “it was a complicated decision. I was doing Disney+’s Santa Claus series at the time and I said, ‘I really can’t think about this now. Do I want to do linear TV? I was so depressed at how streaming has hurt television. So if I did it, I want to elevate it.”
He then laid out his demands to producers as to what he wanted for the show if he were to be the main actor.
Allen remembered telling the producers that “I’ve done Mike Baxter [on Last Man Standing] and Tim Taylor [on Home Improvement]. So if I do this again, I pitched three things: I want a guy that lost his wife recently, so he’s dealing with grief; I want a guy with a family that doesn’t get along; And then he has a custom car shop.”
Allen noted that his new role is “more like me. I’m more of an artist. I was a design student and a philosopher and my standup comedy is really about messing with people in a good way. I came from a huge family run by women. So my perspective is very different about men. I don’t think we run things. So I want this to be that guy. He’s not a man’s man in that term, and he wasn’t trying to be anything but what he does. This is a new character and it’s much closer to [who I am]. I’ve been through grief in my life with losing my father. I’ve been blessed to be a comedian and so that’s who this [character] is. If I did it again, I wanted to get as much closer to the [man] that I am.”
Even though the new show is a favorite for middle America, critics from Hollywood hate it.

As you would imagine, critics who can’t stand Tim Allen’s conservative background hate his American First character and show.
But when the right people are pissed off then you know you are doing something right.
