Pete Hegseth posted an alien emoji on the day Donald Trump ordered the Pentagon to release its UFO files.
Now a combat veteran says he watched American fighter jets chase three of them over southern Idaho.
And this military veteran watched jets chase three objects over Idaho that defied the laws of physics.
What the Veteran Saw Over Caribou County
On the evening of September 4, two witnesses near Bench, Idaho – a remote community roughly 170 miles east of Twin Falls – reported seeing three triangular, multi-colored objects executing what they called physically impossible maneuvers in the night sky.
The witness who filed the primary report served in the U.S. military from 2003 to 2015.
"Objects were initially flying north," he wrote in his account to the National UFO Reporting Center. "We heard jets at the same time."
Then he said something that cuts through all the noise: "I know what fighters sound like."

The objects were performing multiple U-turns in ways the witness – a trained soldier – described as physically impossible for any known aircraft.
The full incident – logged as case #200684 with the National UFO Reporting Center – has been published for public review.
What Trump Did That Harry Reid Spent Years Blocking
Here is the context the media will not give you.
In February 2026, President Trump ordered federal agencies to identify and declassify UAP files for the American public.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth doubled down shortly after, confirming the Pentagon was moving to deliver on that promise.
The program they launched – called PURSUE, the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters – has already produced five separate document releases.
For decades, the man most responsible for keeping this buried was Harry Reid.
The former Senate Majority Leader quietly steered funding to the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program starting in 2007 – then kept the whole thing buried from the American public while Democrats called anyone who asked about UFOs a conspiracy theorist.
Now the Pentagon's own All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office has a caseload exceeding 2,000 open UAP investigations.
Two thousand.

Congressional investigators are demanding answers.
House members wrote directly to Hegseth in March after whistleblowers told them AARO has additional video footage it has not released.
The 2026 National Defense Authorization Act now requires NORTHCOM and NORAD to alert AARO and Congress every single time they intercept a potential UAP.
Every. Single. Time.
The Pattern the Media Keeps Missing
Triangular objects have shown up in the most credible UAP cases on record.
The FBI's most recent document release – published just weeks ago – included accounts from a former military member who witnessed a massive triangular craft hovering over Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan in 2002.
Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb called that account "remarkable," noting the estimated size of 500 feet – larger than any aircraft ever constructed.
A former Pentagon employee reported a separate triangular encounter near Colorado Springs in 2023.
Idaho itself has had 19 NUFORC-investigated UAP cases just this year.
A married couple in Coeur d'Alene filmed a craft estimated at 300 to 400 feet performing multicolored light patterns just weeks ago.
In March, footage from Worley, Idaho showed an orb-like object pulling off maneuvers that – in the words of the investigators – defied engineering logic.
This is not a string of isolated incidents.
This is a pattern.
What Comes Next
He did not guess what he heard.
Twelve years of military service taught him the difference between a commercial flight and a fighter, and he filed a report with precise GPS coordinates: 42.47801, -111.58506.
Under the Trump administration's PURSUE framework, this is exactly the kind of incident AARO is now required to investigate – military aircraft involvement and all.
The American public has spent decades being told to ignore the veteran who says he saw something impossible.
Trump and Hegseth are finally building the infrastructure to take these reports seriously.
The question nobody in Washington, DC wants to answer is what those jets were chasing.
