For the uninitiated: ten years ago today, a three-year-old boy crawled through a barrier at the Cincinnati Zoo and fell into a gorilla enclosure.
The zoo's Dangerous Animal Response Team made the call.
One shot. The child survived. Harambe didn't.
What followed was one of the strangest cultural moments in American history – a decade of memes, memorials, and genuine shared grief over something the mainstream media never fully understood.
The White House post was simple and human.
"Today, we remember a legend," it read, calling Harambe "an icon that became part of internet history, American culture, and an entire generation's timeline."

Democrats Found the Racism in Under Four Hours
Here's where it turned.
Within hours of the post going up, left-wing social media users began demanding to know why the White House honored Harambe but not George Floyd.
"They didn't make a post about George Floyd, but they made one about an APE," one user wrote, openly suggesting the tribute was a racist dog whistle.
Read that again.
These are people so consumed by grievance that they looked at a ten-year anniversary tribute to a viral internet moment and immediately calculated which racial offense it represented.
They didn't ask whether the post was lighthearted.
They didn't note that 7 million people engaged with it.
They searched for racism. Found it. And went to work.
This Is What They Do to Everything
The Harambe response isn't an isolated incident – it's a pattern your family has watched play out for a decade.
Every joke, every meme, every cultural moment that doesn't carry an approved progressive message gets fed into the grievance machine and comes out the other side as evidence of systemic racism.
The result is a political coalition that cannot enjoy anything and cannot let anyone else enjoy anything either.
And they genuinely cannot understand why they keep losing elections to a man who posts gorilla tributes on the official White House account.
