The Supreme Court looks ready to uphold the ban on transgender surgeries for minors
The Biden-Kamala Harris administration and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) argued at the Supreme Court to overturn a Tennessee law banning transgender surgeries for children.
Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar offered up the usual arguments the woke mob makes about how it is necessary for doctors to chemically castrate children to deal with so-called “mental health” challenges stemming from kids supposedly discovering they were born the wrong gender.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito was having none of it.
Alito referenced studies from England and Sweden showing the risks of allowing children to undergo life-altering surgeries that mutilate their bodies far outweigh any alleged benefits.
“To counter Prelogar, Alito cited extensive research from European countries showing otherwise, including a study from a Swedish medical board that concluded the risks of transgender treatments likely outweigh purported benefits. Alito also referred to the United Kingdom’s Cass Review, which found little evidence to further the viewpoint that the benefits of transgender treatment are greater than the risks,” National Review reported.
In light of this research, Alito asked Prelogar if she wanted to rephrase her argument.
“I wonder if you would like to stand by the statement in your position or if you think it would now be appropriate to modify that and withdraw your statement,” Alito stated.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh agreed and wondered why, if European countries like England and Sweden were restricting transgender surgeries for children, shouldn’t the United States do the same.
“If it’s evolving like that and changing, and England is pulling back and Sweden is pulling back, it strikes me as a pretty heavy yellow light, if not red light, for this court to come in, the nine of us, and constitutionalize the whole area,” Kavanaugh declared.
Left-wing Justices disgrace themselves
Justices Sonya Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson made fools of themselves during these oral arguments.
At one point Tennessee Solicitor General Matthew Rice picked up on the threat that Justices Alito and Kavanaugh laid out and asked why the state didn’t have a right to protect children from medically harmful procedures.
“How many minors have to have their bodies irreparably harmed for unproven benefits?” Rice asked.
Sotomayor shamefully compared performing an elective double-mastectomy on a young girl to popping a couple of aspirin to deal with a headache.
“Every medical treatment has risk. Even taking Aspirin,” Sotomayor absurdly replied.
Jackson made an even more preposterous argument when she claimed laws banning transgender surgeries for children were akin to Jim Crow laws banning interracial marriage.
The Left looks like headed for a major defeat in this case.
After Kamala Harris lost the election in large part because of the woke obsession with forcing transgenderism on American society, it looks like Democrats made a massive miscalculation in embracing the extreme transgender agenda.
