Bruce Springsteen just charged a working-class fan $7,000 for a floor seat at his democracy tour.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson just watched that spectacle and said exactly what every normal American is thinking.
And what he said next is going to make Springsteen's people furious.
The Man Who Learned His Lesson
Johnson was asked directly about Springsteen during his Esquire Summer Issue cover interview – the one where the Boss has been raging at Trump every single night on his "Land of Hope and Dreams" tour.
Johnson's answer wasn't what Hollywood expected.
"When I hear you talk about Springsteen, who I love, and this idea that he's speaking directly to Trump in his concerts, my first thought was – why don't they talk? They should sit down and talk," Johnson said.
No applause line for the resistance.
No fist pump for the anti-Trump crowd.
Just a guy who learned the hard way that picking sides in America's culture war destroys everything you've spent your life building.

Johnson knows this personally.
He endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 – his first political endorsement ever – and spent the next several months watching it tear through his fanbase.
"What that caused was something that tears me up in my guts back then and now," Johnson told Fox News in 2024.
That thing was division.
And The Rock – a man with roughly 400 million social media followers, the most followed person on the planet at the time – decided it wasn't worth it.
What Springsteen Still Hasn't Figured Out
Springsteen made the opposite call.
The "Born in the U.S.A." singer turned his entire 2026 tour into an anti-Trump rally – and his own fans are paying the price.
Upper-level seats are running $1,000. Floor seats hit $7,000. Best seats in Newark topped $2,900 at retail.
His own fans revolted on social media.
"$1,000 for upper seats… I don't think I'm using a mortgage payment on seats," one longtime fan wrote.
"It's so sad for anyone that's a huge fan of yours and wants so very badly to see you in concert but just can't afford these ticket prices," wrote another.
Springsteen spent decades building his reputation as the voice of the working man.
His home state paper recently noted the contradiction between that image and what he's actually charging to get in the door.
Trump called him a "total loser" and told supporters to boycott.
Springsteen responded by calling Trump a "low-life fascist."
This is exactly what Johnson walked away from.
The Lesson Hollywood Won't Learn
The Rock is one of the most bankable stars on the planet because half of America watches his movies.
Not the coastal crowd that quotes the New York Times.
All of America.
Truck drivers and teachers.
Veterans and construction workers.
The people who made him the most followed man on social media – and then watched him endorse the guy who let the southern border collapse.
When Johnson endorsed Biden, he lost a significant chunk of those people.

He felt it.
He said so.
And instead of blaming those fans – instead of calling them stupid or morally bankrupt the way Howard Stern did, or telling them to never listen to his music again the way Pink did – Johnson turned inward and changed his own behavior.
"I need to keep the main thing the main thing," Johnson said in his Esquire interview. "The main thing for me is creating. It's art. It's storytelling."
Springsteen used to say the same thing.
Now he's selling $90 branded flags in the arena concourse while lecturing fans about the working class between songs.
Hollywood won't learn it.
They never do.
