Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is in crisis mode.
He’s taking fire from all sides over his handling of the East Palestine, Ohio train derailment.
And Ted Cruz asked one question that left Pete Buttigieg seething with rage.
The Department of Transportation Secretary is usually a relatively anonymous position in a President’s cabinet.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has made headlines for all the wrong reasons during his brief stint on the job.
The derailment of a train carrying toxic chemicals in East Palestine, Ohio was botched by Buttigieg from beginning to end.
He waited ten days to publicly comment on the disaster but took the time to attend a woke conference to complain about the number of white men in the construction industry.
Buttigieg attempted to pin the blame on former President Donald Trump for the disaster over a train braking rule that was changed during his administration.
But the National Transportation Safety Board head pointed out this was misinformation because the rule wouldn’t have applied to the train in East Palestine.
The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana is in way over his head as Transportation Secretary.
Buttigieg, a failed 2020 Presidential candidate, is using the job to build his political profile for another Presidential run by focusing woke initiatives like combating racist highways and green energy.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) asked the question that was on everyone’s mind during the annual Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) conference.
“Pete Buttigieg, what the hell does this guy gotta do to get fired?” Cruz asked. “At this point, it’s a bar game . . . like, what else could he do?”
Buttigieg’s stint as Transportation Secretary has been an absolute disaster for the country.
He presided over an increasing number of flight delays including the first time since 9/11 that air travel was halted nationwide after a key system at the Federal Aviation Administration failed last year.
During the supply chain crisis, he took paternity leave and skipped out on important meetings while the country grappled with empty store shelves.
Cruz pointed out that Buttigieg and President Joe Biden’s response to the East Palestine disaster was a sign that they don’t care about conservative areas.
“The Democrats don’t give a damn about East Palestine, because it’s a blue-collar, red place, and they’re like, ‘To hell with you,'” Cruz said. “If you were a bunch of transgender tech workers, you’d have the entire Biden cabinet down there for a listening session and sit-in to feel their pain.”
The problems keep on coming for Buttigieg after the Department of Transportation’s Inspector General announced an investigation into him for his frequent use of taxpayer funded private planes.
Fox News Digital reported that he’s taken at least 18 taxpayer-funded private flights since becoming Transportation Secretary.
Pete Buttigieg hoped being Transportation Secretary would be a springboard to another Presidential run.
Instead, it’s looking like it could be the end of his political career.
