With an estimated net worth of $1.6 billion, Taylor Swift is the richest female musician alive today.
Swift recently jumped into the 2024 Presidential race and threw her support behind Kamala Harris.
But Taylor Swift just donated $5 million to one organization that put jaws on the floor.
Hurricane Milton made landfall on the Florida Gulf Coast as a major Category 3 storm and created a path of destruction across the state.
Milton dropped a string of deadly tornadoes that left four people dead.
The strong winds ripped apart the roof at Tampa Bay Rays’ Tropicana Field and blew a construction crane into a nearby building.
By Thursday morning, millions of people were without power in Florida.
Milton’s landfall came just two weeks after Hurricane Helene hit Florida’s Big Bend coastline and caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damages from the record storm surge and the high winds it brought with it.
Unlike Milton, Hurricane Helene was much more deadly due to the fact that it traveled across Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia after leaving the state of Florida.
The death toll for Helene is approaching 230 and counting as rescue and recovery operations are still ongoing.
Despite the disaster inflicted on western North Carolina by Helene, FEMA officials were slow in bringing much-needed supplies to the residents, many who are still stranded without any power or running water.
But Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas set off fireworks when he announced that FEMA was running out of money and had no funds to get through the rest of hurricane season.
“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” he said. “We do not have the funds — FEMA does not have the funds.”
Americans were furious over Mayorkas’ statement considering that DHS doled out more than $1 billion to illegal aliens over the past year.
But instead of doing nothing but complaining, Americans from all across the country stepped up and offered whatever they could to help the folks in North Carolina.
Donald Trump sent truckloads of supplies to the region and raised over $7.5 million to help those impacted by the hurricane.
Americans with helicopters traveled to North Carolina to assist with search and rescue efforts for the hundreds of people that have been missing since the hurricane.
Celebrities and famous musicians also stepped up and donated money to organizations and groups that are helping with disaster relief efforts in North Carolina.
Country legend Dolly Parton and country star Morgan Wallen have donated a lot of money as well as Luke Combs and Eric Church.
Rock band Metallica also donated money to help buy food for those in the area.
But the most famous woman on the planet just stepped up and made a massive $5 million contribution to the disaster relief efforts in North Carolina with a contribution to Feeding America.
“Thank you @taylorswift for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and helping communities in need in the wake of #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton,” the organization wrote. “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.”
Taylor Swift wasn’t obligated to use some of her vast fortune to help her fellow Americans in need.
But she came through with a huge donation that will help ease the burden of those suffering from the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.
