There has been no shortage of amazing answers on Family Feud through the years.
And Steve Harvey has certainly heard his fair share since he took over the show in 2010.
But Harvey just couldn’t swallow this answer from a pastor’s wife to one Family Feud question.
Family Feud has been a beloved show, ever since its inception in 1976.
The show was created by producer Mark Goodson, who was also behind other hit game shows like The Price Is Right and Match Game.
Its first host was the “kissing bandit” Richard Dawson, who prior to hosting Family Feud was best known for his role in the sitcom Hogan’s Heroes.
Dawson hosted Family Feud for its first nine years, from 1976-1985, and again from 1994-1995.
He also met his second wife on the show.
In 1981, a contestant named Gretchen Johnson appeared on the Feud, and won $12,659 with her family.
Nine years later, she and Dawson married.
Since Richard Dawson, there have been five other hosts before Steve Harvey took over the duties in 2010.
And, with Steve Harvey as host, the show is more popular than it’s been since Richard Dawson was at the helm.
In fact, it’s become so popular you can now find almost every past episode online.
But what has become a show unto itself is watching Steve Harvey’s priceless responses to some of the unexpected answers contestants give.
And this time it was no different.
In fact, this time, a pastor’s wife got to Steve Harvey even before she answered.
Even as he walked up to her, he knew it was going to go badly.
And even though he tried to get her to “play nice” she wanted to win and decided to go for the money.
What happened next was probably not what her husband’s congregation expected from the demur parson’s lady.
And it left host Steve Harvey in quite a bind.
Reaction on social media was mixed.
Some found the entire exchange hilarious, while many others found it went just a bit too far for what is supposed to be a family show.
And others accused Harvey and the show’s producers of setting it up in advance to make sure of exactly the outcome he received.
Whatever the case may be, it didn’t appear that Harvey was thrilled with her answer.
And really, for crying out loud Meghan, “Mouthwash” didn’t come to mind?
