Sean Hannity is a staple of Fox News Channel’s primetime lineup.

Hannity hosted the longest-running cable news show in history.

And now Sean Hannity took this new job that no one saw coming.

Hannity to host Fox Nation Patriot Awards

Fox News named Hannity as the new host of the Fox Nation Patriot Awards replacing previous host Pete Hegseth who Donald Trump named as his nominee to serve as Secretary of Defense.

“Veteran Fox News host Sean Hannity will host the 2024 Fox Nation Patriot Awards on December 5th, replacing Pete Hegseth who has been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to join his cabinet as defense secretary,” Mediaite reported.

The Patriot Awards proved to be a popular event that serves as a celebration of red-state America.

Fox News Channel’s collection of stars attends the event, which will now take place in Hannity’s native Long Island.

“Hannity will be joined by other Fox News hosts like Will Cain, Rachel Campos-Duffy, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Harris Faulkner, Bill Hemmer, Laura Ingraham, Brian Kilmeade, Martha MacCallum, Dana Perino, Judge Jeanine Pirro, Jesse Watters, and many others during the event, which will take place in Brookville, New York. Hannity, a Long Island native, holds the record for helming the longest-running cable news program and continues to dominate his time slot in the ratings over CNN and MSNBC,” Mediaite also reported.

Hegseth’s nomination imperiled

Hannity taking Hegseth’s job as host of the Patriot Awards comes at a time when Trump needs to fight for Hegseth’s nomination.

Donald Trump picked Peter Hegseth as his nominee to turn the Defense Department because Hegseth shares Trump’s desire to fire woke generals and end the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris politicization of the military.

But the Swamp guards its turf jealously.

The media is trying to destroy Hegseth’s nomination using allegations of sexual assault claims filed against Hegseth by a woman in 2017 when Hegseth spoke at a GOP conference.

Mediaite obtained the police report from the incident, which describes how Hegseth and the woman met, details security camera footage showing the woman smiling as she accompanied Hegseth to his hotel room, and included interviews with both the woman and Hegseth.

Police investigated the incident and prosecutors declined to press charges.

Hegseth’s attorney, Tim Parlatore, told Mediaite that the report confirmed what he said all along, which is that the investigation into this incident proved the allegations were false.

“This police report confirms what I have said all along that the incident was fully investigated and police found the allegations to be false, which is why no charges were filed,” Parlatore stated.

Hegseth is the second Trump nominee the media is trying to destroy using allegations of sexual impropriety that turned out to be unsubstantiated.

The Swamp brought down Matt Gaetz’s nomination to be Attorney General using an allegation that Gaetz had sex with a minor, which Joe Biden’s Justice Department investigated for more than a year and deemed not credible.

The fate of Hegseth’s nomination will determine if the new standard to derail a nominee in Washington, D.C. is just the existence of an allegation, even if it proves to be false.
