The woman who fled America to protest Donald Trump is back on podcasts telling the world that nobody in their right mind would choose to be gay.
Rosie O’Donnell actually said it out loud – and the liberal media called it beautiful.
The Quote That Slipped Out
Rosie O'Donnell sat down with Amy Poehler on the Good Hang podcast Tuesday and started talking about grief.
She was telling Poehler about a woman named Corby – one of her first partners, now dead – and how painful the breakup was decades ago.
Her family didn't want to hear about it.
Nobody asked if she was okay.
And in the middle of explaining all of that, O'Donnell said it: "It makes you feel that you're sort of doomed by being gay, which is no different than being left-handed or having blue eyes. Like you people don't choose it. Who would choose it? It's not an easy life."

Democrats have spent decades insisting that's not true.
The Tattoo, the Podcast, and the Contradiction
Here is where it gets richer.
On the same episode, Poehler praised O'Donnell for correcting her pronoun use in real time.
"I love that you're constantly correcting in real time," Poehler said. "It's really beautiful."
O'Donnell got a tattoo of the word "they" – written in Clay's own handwriting – on her wrist as a permanent reminder.
She moved her family to Ireland to protect Clay from the Trump administration.

And yet in that same interview, she described being gay as a "doomed" existence – hard by definition, not something anyone would freely pick.
The media ate it up as a heartwarming story.
Back in America, Profiting Off the Man She Fled
After Trump won in 2024, O'Donnell moved to Ireland in January 2025 and told anyone who would listen that she had no regrets.
She has since returned three times.
At the Tony Awards, she called Trump a "psychopath," a "narcissist," and a "conman" on the red carpet.
And now again – guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel's show starting next week and doing press for a one-woman show in Manhattan built entirely around her feud with Trump.
She told Poehler that Trump inadvertently made her "re-famous" and would stop talking about her if he knew how much it was helping her career.

The woman who uprooted her child, tattooed a pronoun on her wrist, and moved to another country to protest Donald Trump is now selling tickets and booking television because Donald Trump is the only reason anyone still cares what she says.
