It was more than two full years ago when Americans were told they needed to give up many of their rights and freedoms to “flatten the curve” of COVID-19.
That was supposed to last fifteen days.
Now Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is saying enough is enough.
The Democrat Party just can’t quit the never-ending pandemic.
They enjoy the added control and power they gained under the guise of a “public health crisis.”
And they also know one of their only paths to victory in the 2022 midterms is if Americans are afraid of the coronavirus.
Recently, the TSA extended its mask mandate for public transit.
And city officials in Philadelphia have brought back mask mandates, citing fears over increased cases of the mild omicron COVID variant.
Meanwhile, Dr. Anthony Fauci isn’t ready to say goodbye to the face diapers, saying in an interview with NBC News’ Andera Mitchel, “we need more time” with masks, saying it is the prudent thing to do.
However, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis isn’t buying what Fauci and the rest of the radical Left and their allies in the Fake News Media are selling.
“You’re going to have, potentially, some of these deep blue jurisdictions go back to restrictions and mandates,” Gov. DeSantis said. “If you look at what’s happening in Shanghai (China), they have everybody in a brutal lockdown. I just want to be very clear, as long as I sit in the chair in which I sit, no Floridian will be restricted, mandated or locked down in any possible way.”
DeSantis said pandemic regulations became a cottage industry with politicians and corporate-controlled “journalists,” but then you see them in Miami or Palm Beach, where they’re free.
“Some people will say, ‘oh they’re hypocrites,’ yeah, they are, but that’s not the issue,” Gov. DeSantis said. “The issue is, if they thought their policies really were necessary and they thought these mitigations really were effective, they’d be abiding by it. They’re not abiding by it because they know it’s all about politics and control . . . they know it’s COVID theater. We don’t have any tolerance for COVID theater in the state of Florida.”
DeSantis went on to say the Sunshine State would not be booming the way it is if he had followed the political science as opposed to the actual science.
The claims from the People’s Governor are buttressed by a new report from the Wall Street Journal.
@WSJ reports a new @nberpubs study shows Utah as the #1 state for best COVID-19 performance outcomes for economy, education, and mortality. Read the full study here: https://t.co/89WWJFjVG0 #utpol @GovCox

According to the study, blue states that imposed strict pandemic restrictions ranked at the bottom of the pack in deaths, hospitalizations, economy, and schooling.
Meanwhile, a new poll shows Americans agree with DeSantis’ stance – COVID is over.
According to the Axios/Ipsos survey, a meager 9% of Americans believe COVID-19 is a serious crisis.
Time for Democrats to try something new and for Americans to get back to living their lives freely.
