Florida Governor Ron DeSantis doesn’t pull any punches going after the Left.
And he put jaws on the floor with his latest take down.
That’s because Ron DeSantis dropped an epic truth bomb about California that left Democrats fuming.
The war of words is heating up between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom.
Newsom, a potential 2024 presidential candidate, is building his national profile with Democrats by going after the Left’s new bogeyman, Ron DeSantis.
Facing a safe reelection race for Governor, Newsom made the eyebrow-raising move of using campaign money to attack DeSantis on Fox News in Florida.
Newsom made the laughable claim that the state was losing freedom under the wildly popular Florida Governor’s leadership.
In response, DeSantis torched California after the state’s electrical grid was on the verge of collapse from a heat wave in the state.
“I hear a lot of people chirping about Florida from California,” DeSantis said. “They’re so worried about Florida.”
“They can’t even keep the power on in California, are you kidding me?” DeSantis exclaimed.
California electric companies are warning residents not to charge their electric cars and to keep their air conditioning above 78 degrees to prevent rolling black outs.
The announcement came shortly after the state regulators announced the sale of gas-powered vehicles would be banned by 2035 to make way for more electric vehicles.
After going all in on green energy, California can barely keep the lights on.
“Someone told me that they will be able, once all the people that want to move to Florida move out of there, then maybe they’ll have adequate power,” DeSantis said. “But I mean it’s just — it’s just ridiculous.”
As Democrats continue to turn California into a socialist nightmare, the Golden State has seen residents flee the state for the freedom of Republican led states.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s own in-laws packed up and moved to Florida from California in March 2020 as his draconian lockdowns were imposed.
“And so — you know, we’ve been able to do that,” DeSantis continued. “Part of it, though, is just, you know, we stood for people’s rights, we stood for people’s freedoms and — and obviously the state has done very well. We have more people employed in Florida than we did prior to COVID.”
The pandemic sent California and Florida down two different paths after DeSantis turned the state into an oasis of freedom.
While California’s economy is still struggling to recover from the pandemic, Florida is in a record setting boom under DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom are two Governors with Presidential ambitions in the future.
The war of words between the two Governors could be a preview of a future presidential showdown.
